Target organ toxicity and symptoms of toxicity of the poisoning cases are also focused. Further, the student is trained on the use of specific antidotes as well as other management approaches for poisoning cases. The course provides also an introduction for forensic toxicology. (C) Course Objectives Brief summary of the knowledge or skill the course is intended to develop: Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to: 1) Recognize the basic knowledge of different types of toxicity. 2) Identify different classes of toxicants and mechanism of toxicity. 3) Illustrate druginduced organ toxicity. 4) Suggest the proper antidote therapy. 5) Evaluate the role of poison information centers in the health care system.
