1 Nordic Weightlifting Championship Senior & Club Team Championships, Women & Men Akureyri Iceland 16-18th of August 2013 The Icelandic Weightlifting Federation and the Weightlifting Club KFA invites you to the Nordic Senior Weightlifting Championships & Club Team Championships. 1. COMPETITION RULES Competition will be held according to the rules of the Nordic Weightlifting Federation and International Weightlifting Federation. 2. PRELIMINARY CHAMPIONSHIPS SCHEDULE Friday, Aug 16th Arrival of the delegates Training possibility at Íþróttahöllinn við Skólastíg (Akureyri sports hall) Dinner at Akureyri Sports Hall 20:00 Electoral congress of the Nordic Weightlifting Federation at Akureyri Sports Hall Saturday, Aug 17th 06:00-07:00 Female Weigh in at Akureyri Sports Hall Weight in & Sauna provided at Akureyri Swimming center 07:00-10:00 Breakfast at Akureyri Sports Hall 08:00 Female competition at Akureyri Sports Hall 12:00-16:00 Lunch at Akureyri Sports Hall 11:00-12:00 Male Weigh in at Akureyri Sports Hall Weight in & Sauna provided at Akureyri Swimming center 13:00 Male Competition at Akureyri Sports Hall 20:00 Banquet at Akureyri Sports Hall Sunday, Aug, 18th 08:00-10:00 Breakfast at Akureyri Sports Hall 12:00-16:00 Lunch at Akureyri Sports Hall Departure of the delegates
2 3. ACCOMMODATIONS Delegation members participating in the event will be accommodated mainly to Iceland Air Hotels and Edda Hotel for the athletes. 4. COMPETITION AND TRAINING VENUE The competition will be held at the Akureyri Sports hall (Íþróttahöllinni við Skólastíg, 600 Akureyri). The warm- up area and an additional weightlifting room will be available. During the Championships Werksan barbells will be used. 5. ACCREDITATION The accreditation procedures will be done at Akureyri Sports Hall, on Friday August 16th 2013 and all participants will receive a special pass in order to have access to the warm- up area and dining area in Akureyri Sports Hall. 6. ENTRIES Preliminary Entry Forms The Forms must be returned to the organizing committee (lsi@lsi.is) before the 14th of June Final Entry Forms The forms must be returned to the organizing committee (lsi@lsi.is) before the 14th of July FEES The accommodation fees and competition and doping fee are included: 250 euro per person for single room per night (included: breakfast, lunch and dinner at the Akureyri sports hall and competition and doping fees) 200 euro per person for double per night (400 totals) (included: breakfast, lunch and dinner at the Akureyri sports hall and competition and doping fees). Optimal: 200 euro per person for Accreditation fee without Hotel (included: breakfast, lunch and dinner at the Akureyri sports hall and competition and doping fees). 15. 3 9. INSURANCE All Federations must undertake full moral and financial responsibility for their respective delegations regarding health and in case of accidents and damages. 10. TRANSPORTATION The nearest airport is AEY and there is a direct flight from Copenhagen on Thursdays and Sundays. Expedition will be available up on a request on Friday. For transport packet please contact Jeanett Dungal (dkgroups@icelandair.is) who works with Icelandair in Denmark. Otherwise it is KEF airport and than one hour drive to the domestic airport to fly from RKV to AEY or six hour drive to Akureyri. The Organizing Committee will provide free transportation between accommodation places and the competition place. 11. PRIZES Gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded for the first, second and third places respectively in the total. 12. THE BALTIC COUNTRIES The Baltic countries, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, are invited to compete in an open (separate) Nordic Championships Competition in these weight category groups: men - 77 kg and +74 kg Women - 63 and +63. Lifters will be awarded according to the Sinclair formula. Both, Nordic and Baltic countries will participate to this competition. 13.
