2 VISION Following the extraordinary success of the first two meetings on Microbiota, Probiota and Host, we are happy to invite you once again to the Monastery of Seeon. We aim to integrate a panel of multidisciplinary experts relevant to novel aspects in microbiology, immunology gastroenterology and nutrition science. This platform enables cross-sectional discussions in the understanding for the role of bacteria-host interactions in the development or prevention of modern pathologies including chronic inflammatory, atopic and metabolic diseases. ACHIEVEMENT We recently published a series of articles in the International Journal of Medical Microbiology (2009) covering the first international meeting in March In addition, experts of the new section critically contributed to the successful launch of a new Forward Look Initiative (2010) at the European Science Foundation on Gene environment interaction in chronic disease. These activities should guide towards novel clusters of integrated research activities and new avenues of topic-related funding at the national and the European level. All members, interested scientists and students are invited, to contribute to the meeting with abstracts or posters. We are very pleased to welcome national and international scientists to present their research findings and experiences in State-ofthe-Art talks. Congress language is English. We look forward to welcome you in Seeon.
