Broad St. Greensboro, Georgia Andrew Ryan Davis Andrew Ryan Davis, age 38, of Watkinsville, GA, died Sunday, March 18, He was born August 25, 1979 in Athens, GA to George Bert Davis of Panama City Beach, Florida, and the late Janice Ruth Davis. He was a graduate of Oconee County High School, where he was an avid member and leader in the 4-H program and school theater department. Andy held multiple degrees and had a passion for learning. He earned an Associate s degree from Athens Technical Institute in Computer Science, a Bachelor s degree within the College of Family and Consumer Sciences from the University of Georgia, and was currently pursuing a Masters of Consumer Analytics at the university as well. Andy was a problem solver and loved number crunching, he could lose himself in it for hours at a time. He spent many years working with the University in several different facets, but most loved his role as the Student Leadership and Experiential Learning Specialist. He had a passion for working with young people and helping them attain their life goals. Andy held a special place in his heart for each of his students. He made a difference to so many as a mentor, leader, and friend. Andy deeply loved all of his family and friends and touched many lives in his life that was taken much too soon. People that knew him loved his sweet demeanor, huge heart, super sarcastic sense of humor, his famous dimples and that smile that could light up any room. He will be greatly missed, but remembered with respect and love for the kindness that he shared with each person he encountered in his journey. He is survived by his father and stepmother, George Bert Davis and Nina Housand Davis of Panama City Beach, FL; Sister, Dana Celeste Davis of Panama City Beach, FL; Uncles and Aunts, Lynn and Larry Nelson of Aiken, SC, Kenneth and Beth Meeler of Aiken, SC, Brad and Claire Davis of Watkinsville, GA, Michael Davis of Panama City Beach, FL; Cousins, Kelly Mitchell of Rock Hill, SC, Kimberly Owens, Hope Mullins, Brianna Blacha, Brooke Meeler, Ben Nelson, all of Aiken, SC, Tim Davis of Houston, TX, Chris Davis of Columbus, GA, Hayley and Hallie Davis of Panama City Beach, FL, Brent and Brian Davis of Watkinsville, GA; Best friend, Michael Rupured of Athens, GA; and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 22 at the University of Georgia Botanical Gardens from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. All friends and family are welcome to attend this visitation to share their love and respect of our beloved, Andy. A separate closed graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 24 at 11:00 a.m. at the White Plains Baptist Church Cemetery with Army Chaplain Chris Davis officiating.
