Eladio Gore has been a favorite speaker at past ASHI education events. His presentations and knowledge are exceptional! We are reserving a 30-minute question and answer period, so write down and bring all your questions to the program. The 8th edition of the Base Code is comprised of the International Building Code 2009 (IBC), several companion I-codes and a separate package with Massachusetts amendments to the I-codes. The Stretch Energy Code was added to the Building Code on July 24, 2009 and is located in the code as Appendix 115 AA. The code uses provisions of the International Energy Conservation Code 2009 (IECC 2009) but provides a more energy efficient alternative to the standard energy provisions of the code that many municipalities have adopted. 1:45 pm 3:00 pm (continued 3:30 pm 4:30 pm) Billy Sweet The Chimney Sweep Chimney Problems and Their Remedies Chimneys are an integral part of most homes that we inspect. Areas of concern to be addressed during this session will be chimney tops, crowns, brickwork, flashing, attics, smoke chambers, breeches, fireplaces, hearths, woodstoves, clearances and why they are important. In regard to heating systems, our presenter will discuss oil and gas connector pipes, cleanout Nearest Airports Logan International Airport (BOS) T.F. Green Airport Rhode Island access, foundations, liners (aluminum, stainless steel and terra-cotta flue tile). This program will offer a look at recommended remedies. Our speaker will also leave time in his program for audience questions.
