Analyze the evidence for the use of fat grafting to the breast, use of acellular dermal matrix and new synthetic substitutes, and the use of shaped breast implants for breast augmentation and reconstruction. Review trends and best-practice techniques in mastectomy, oncoplastic surgery and breast reconstruction including tissue expanders, direct to implant reconstruction, latissimus flaps, TRAM flaps, and microsurgical SIEA and DIEP Flaps, and nipple reconstruction. Evaluate a variety of techniques used in aesthetic breast surgery including breast reduction, mastopexy, augmentation, and prevention and correction of complications including rippling and capsular contracture. 7 ACCREDITATION The Southeastern Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education in order to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The Southeastern Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons designates this live activity for a MAXIMUM of 17.5 CME CATEGORY 1 CREDITS toward the AMA Physician s Recognition Award. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the live activity. Of the 17.5 credits, 2 have been identified as applicable to patient safety p. SESPRS DISCLOSURE POLICY As a provider accredited by the ACCME, SESPRS must ensure balance, independence, objectivity and scientific rigor in all its individually sponsored or jointly sponsored educational activities.
