2 Welcome to Maidstone United FC Welcome to Maidstone United FC today for our 11 th England Deaf Football Challenge Cup and Plate Final! It is an honour to welcome all teams, their supporters and friends today to our Final here at this excellent brand new stadium, Gallagher Stadium. We have two exciting matches lined up for you all today, with starting with the Plate final where we welcome 2012 EDF Plate winner, Bristol Deaf FC who will be hoping to mark off their long season with another trophy to their collection. They are up against Black Country Deaf FC who features in their first final in EDF competition. Black Country DFC have had mixed fortunes in the EDF competition over the years and will be eager to win their first EDF trophy. It will be a thriller game to start our day off with! In our Challenge Cup Final match, we welcome Derby Deaf FC who are featuring in their first ever EDF Final, having built their squad over the years and this year they have had successes in their local hearing league, gaining promotion and under Christopher Naylor s leadership, they will be looking to finish the season on a high note. We may see new EDF winner at end of today! Derby will have to battle it out against their arch rivals, Doncaster Deaf Trust FC, the team which have seen their players join forces once again to compete in the EDF competition and on their return to EDF Competition this season, beating last year s winner, St John s DFC in the Semi Final, and Doncaster will be hoping to reap their rewards by winning the biggest prize in Deaf Football, the EDF Challenge Trophy! I am delighted to welcome our Guest of Honour, Robert Taylor, to our Final today. I am forever in debt to my colleagues in EDF, Steven Wynne and Derek Rowley, for their devolution to the ethos of running the EDF and supporting our Deaf Footballers and the Deaf community. We are delighted to have many resources and expertises of our volunteers supporting us today at the final; they are the backbone to making the day a reality, in which we enjoy today. Let s wish all teams the very best of luck today, and please respect our officials and take considerations for others around you, this is family day for all to enjoy. Oliver Eadsforth, General Secretary England Deaf Football

11 EDF League Final 2014 Following a successful season for Sunderland in the EDF North league, they secure the EDF League Cup final place against St John s who topped the South League table. The final was held at Calverton Miners Welfare FC, near Nottingham. The match was known for period of wet heavy rain which challenged both teams in the opening half of the match and chances came from both sides but no goals were scored in the first half. St John s took the lead shortly in the 2 nd half with goal from Kimahrie Lee, who tapped in after a shot by Marios Costi was saved. Marios Costi went on to score the 2 nd goal for St John s, and despite Sunderland resilience late on in the game, St John s held onto for the victory. Congratulations to St John s Deaf FC! Result: Sunderland DFC 0 2 St John s DFC Scorer: Kimahrie Lee, Marios Costi The England Deaf Football would like to express their gratitude to John Harvey and his team at Maidstone United FC for allowing us to use their excellent facilities at Gallagher Stadium. Our match balls today are provided by our local country FA Kent FA who has worked tireless in delivering high quality football coaching and training for our Deaf and Disability Teams across Kent over the last 5 years and continue to grow stronger. Yozwer is the main sponsor of the EDF Challenge Cup & Plate winner banners which will be celebrated by the winners of each final. 12
