3 Learning Blindness Skills LightHouse provides training to people who are new to blindness or low vision, teaching them how to use a white cane for getting around, read braille, use accessible technology and master nonvisual techniques for graceful daily living. Access to Information Technology Access to Information Services creates braille and tactile maps, audio files, accessible museum exhibitions, braille documents, and assists web and app developers in creating online content that is fully accessible.

Employment Immersion The LightHouse s Employment Immersion Program is the leading training and job placement program for blind and visually impaired individuals in Northern California.

4 Employment Immersion The LightHouse s Employment Immersion Program is the leading training and job placement program for blind and visually impaired individuals in Northern California. Counseling Services Counseling, psychotherapy and life coaching are available in individual, couple, family and group settings. These services give clients a place to express themselves and process their changing vision.

LightHouse Labs LightHouse Labs is where high tech corporations meet with blind scientists, engineers and savvy consumers to develop and critique new technologies.

6 Community Services Community Services offers cutting edge social, health promotion and educational classes to build community. Opportunities include yoga, dance, a book club and many engaging programs. Volunteering Volunteers are crucial, helping LightHouse serve over 3,000 blind people each year. Opportunities include Personal Services Volunteers, Fitness Partners and other volunteer positions. Please call for details.

LightHouse Industries For 25 years LightHouse Industries has provided direct employment at our light manufacturing plant in San Leandro. Blind or visually impaired employees perform 75% of all direct labor.

8 Deaf-Blind The Deaf-Blind Program provides training, resources and technology to persons who are both vision and hearing-impaired. The LightHouse provides free technology and training to Californians who qualify. A unique Deaf-Blind session has been offered at Enchanted Hills Camp for 40 years.
