2 ADVANCED SINUS AUGMENTATION SURGERY COURSE COURSE ABSTRACT: This course is aimed for participants who are already experienced in implantology and want to level up their expertise in a different sinus augmenting procedures. The course will emphasize on different sinus lifting (augmentation) techniques. Indications and contra indications of each technique will be explained and demonstrated in details. The primary goal is to assist each participant in achieving a higher level of clinical comfort with practical tips for advanced surgical techniques as described below. The following topics will be extensively reviewed: Sinus anatomy, physiology, different variation of the sinus and pathologies. Radiography of the sinus using CBCT, panoramic image for optimizing treatment planning and performing. The indications of usage of different bone substitutes used for sinus augmentation. Various sinus augmentation will be demonstrated through didactic presentations, live surgery and hands on sessions and will focus on topics such as: Closed sinus lifting (Morse technique), lateral approach and updated techniques will be reviewed. Hands-on workshop on pig's head. Live surgery demonstration. This course will take place in the l Institut Européen de Formation continue of Garancière, which is located at the Faculty of Dental Surgery of Garancière, at Paris Diderot University in the heart of the Latin Quarter. A certificate from the University will be given at the end of the course. Full attendance is required by the University. 3 2

Prof. Patrick Missika Prof. Patrick Missika graduated the Paris 7 University Dental School in 1971, obtained a certificate of Anthropology in 1972 and a certificate of Oral Surgery in 1973.

3 Prof. Patrick Missika Prof. Patrick Missika graduated the Paris 7 University Dental School in 1971, obtained a certificate of Anthropology in 1972 and a certificate of Oral Surgery in His doctoral research doctorate thesis in 1975 was on the subject of Vitreous Carbon Implants. Prof. Missika has been teaching at Paris 7 University Dental School since 1971, became Assistant Clinical Professor in the Oral Surgery Department in 1976, and a Professor in In 1984, he established the first post-graduate program in implantology in France. Today, he is Director of the Post-Graduate Program in Implantology Surgery and Prosthesis, head of the Implantology Department and Vice Dean of the Paris Diderot University Dental School. Prof. Patrick Missika is a member of many scientific associations, including the Society Odontologique of Paris and the French Dental Association, where he served as the Scientific President in He is the Chairman for France of the Pierre Fauchard Academy, founded and is the President of the French Association of Implantology, and President of Law Experts of France. In , he also served as Director of Entretiens de Garancière, a main scientific meeting. Prof. Missika is the author of 13 books and more of 500 communications and publications. Some recent examples include Bone Augmentation Techniques (in collaboration with Fouad Khoury and Hadi Antoun) and Keys of Success in Implantology (in collaboration with Marc Bert, CDP Editor). In 2014, she joined the Institute of Radiology of Paris, a liberal firm where she is currently responsible for head and neck imaging and co-responsible for tooth and maxillofacial imaging. Author of the book "Imagerie des sinus" Sauramps medical (2016), she has written numerous articles in specialized dental journals, as well as in the Encyclopedie Médico-chirurgicale - EMC.
