2 Dear colleagues, Care colleghe, cari colleghi, It is our great pleasure to host the 30th Symposium Augustanum, the official annual meeting of the German-Italian Society of Dermatology. After the last summit in Genova, it is now our turn and pleasure to host the meeting in the historical university town of Marburg/Lahn. The Philipps University is the oldest protestant university of the world and this year, the 500th anniversary of the reformation which was initiated by Martin Luther, will be celebrated. According to the spirit of the 1st meeting of the German-Italian Society of Dermatology that was held in Augsburg in 1985, the aim of our Society is to stimulate the scientific and personal exchange between dermatologists from Italy and Germany! The scientific scope of the upcoming meeting is broadly on all fields of clinical dermatology with a focus on autoimmune bullous disorders which were also the major topic at the 1st meeting in Augsburg. Marburg will be ideally suited as a place for many personal interactions with its truly academic environment of a medieval university town in a beautiful landscape which can be easily reached from Frankfurt.
