2 Lions Walk f Diabetes May 7, 2016 Please join us f a special event in May 2016 On Saturday, May 7, 2016, the Canadian Diabetes Association (CDA) will partner with the Napanee Lions f a community walk to raise funds in suppt of the CDA s research, education and programming f those living with affected by diabetes. This family-friendly walk promotes healthy living, reminds people that exercise is fun and is suitable f any age fitness level. Everyone is encouraged to participate! The Lions Walk f Diabetes event starts at 8:30 a.m. with a pancake breakfast ($5.00/per person) held at The Napanee Lions Hall. Participants can walk befe after breakfast, depending on their preference. We will not be having a defined start and the walk is not a timed event. Your suppt will help us continue the wk of the CDA. Across Canada, the CDA: Offers educational programs and suppt services; Develops resources f health-care professionals on best practices to care f people with diabetes; Advocates f those affected with diabetes to governments, schools and wkplaces; and Funds research to improve treatments and find a cure. Did you know? One Canadian is diagnosed with diabetes every three minutes 1.5 million Canadians have type 2 diabetes and don t know it Diabetes is a cause of 30 per cent of strokes, 40 per cent of heart attacks, 50 per cent of kidney failure requiring dialysis and 70 per cent of all non-traumatic amputations below the knee Help us make a difference f people living with diabetes in our community!
