Please let your organizations and classmates know that this exists for their use Saturday Januar 31 st is a scholarship/tour day for future Honors students and we need student organizations that can set up booths for parents and future students to see. You need to be on HSC from 10:45-2:45. Lunch will be provided. Student organizations should Jose Trevino and CC Jenny Galuska by tomorrow afternoon (Tuesday) so lunches can be reserved. Saturday Feb 14 th is also a prospective student day. As the schedule is developed we will have more details and let you know where help is needed. Student organizations are a big part of what future students are interested in, so we can represent the college well in this way. This is a good opportunity to influence their decision on where to go.

2 Jeff Barton Development Report Jeff not able to attend Conduct Committee Report Nothing to report this month Secretary's Minutes Danielle Carroll motioned to approve Sean Hackett seconds. Treasurer's Report No change since last meeting Old Business Stress Month Kelsey Dorka o Kelsey is not in attendance o These events are starting in February, so we will reach out to her to find out how things are going. Student/Faculty Townhall Meeting o Josh Jacobs Everything is planned and ready to go, we just need to get a classroom and date picked out. They are trying to get a day that works for all classes and are looking at a Monday or Wednesday afternoon, potentially in February or March. Final update on Main Campus Microwave o Alumni association will be purchasing a microwave for a public area. PPO will be taking responsibility for cleaning and maintaining it. New Business PCCA/International Compounding Conference Presentation Marina Stepanski o Marina attended the conference in October. o PCCA is a national association that handles compounded products across the country o This is a very good experience if you are interested in compounding. It teaches much more about it than we ever learned in class. o Many people think this is a dying field, but it is not. You specifically design products for unique patient scenarios where traditional medicine doesn t work. o Let your organizations know that PCCA is available as an APPE rotation. o If you have any questions feel free to talk to Marina. - Student interest in starting a chapter of National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA)

3 o Dean Early wanted to know if we were interested in starting a student chapter on campus. Anyone who is interested should L\look into this and we can talk at the next meeting about if there is intereste in starting one. o This is the independent pharmacists association. o If you are interested in owning your own pharmacy in the future the national organization has resources to support those that are interested in being entrepreneurs. o This could be a great opportunity to bring here since there is a resurgence of independent pharmacy. OPA Student Legislative Day Call for action. o February 24 th in Columbus o APhA has 7 more spots for students who are interested in attending, and they will be sending out a sign up genius soon to sign up for those spots, or contact Deeb if you are interested. o IF you have any ideas regarding the profession send your ideas to Matt Jordan and he can take the ideas there if you aren t able to go o This is very important and the college has been falling behind on attending this. Other schools send hundreds of students. o It is an opportunity to talk to legislators and help put our input into informing them about bills concerning pharmacy. o OPA had a huge part in pushing the new immunization and diabetic shoe bills that were passed a few months ago, so we do make a difference when we attend things like this. Student Organization Calendar Reformation o Have your organizations start looking at your calendar of events and have them Rachel Badovick with any open events that people can attend. o We will be ing out lists of events for the month in the newsletters. o We put everything in a Google calendar last semester, but we weren t able to get this up on the website. o Class representatives need to let their classes know that events will now be included in the newsletter now so they are aware of this. o Calendars will be put on the monitors when they are fixed (the software was changed recently) and can be posted on bulletin boards. Rocket Pharmacist Update o If your organization did not submit something, they received multiple s from Rachel Badovick. o This is a newsletter that is sent to students, alumni, and faculty that has updates from the college for the past semester. o Submit pictures and articles highlighting your organization. o If you still want to do this do it ASAP. These were due 12/31 and there have been very few responses. Student Organization Awards Phield Day Preparation

4 o Organization awards were established last year and we will continue them this year Will talk about this more next meeting, applications are due in March o Phield day will possibly be the week of April 20 th o Friday might be better than Monday since people have fewer things to do at the end of the week. o Every organization can have a booth with an activity (for example APhA did pie a TA and the money goes to charity). o Last year we did a rummage sale where organizations could see leftover things, and will probably do this again this year Event dates to remember SCCP Call for Abstracts Due February 16 th (5:00pm and ed to utoledosccp@gmail.com) o They are looking for people who have done research and want to do poster or podium presentations. o These presentations look good on your CV. o If you know anyone doing research let them know about this opportunity. o Symposium will be on March 22 nd OPA Student Legislative Day February 24 th 2nd Annual Student vs Faculty/Alumni Basketball Game February 20 th (5-8pm). o Tickets $5 presale and $10 at the door o Student basketball team is full, but there is still room on committees if you want to get involved and help out o Will be at Savage Arena o Proceeds will go to the Miracle League Announcements from Student Organizations SNPhA o Selling ID clips for $2, contact Hanin or any SNPhA representative o Chill at the Grill is coming up This is a social event for faculty and students. Tickets are $20 and it will be February 19 th so look for advertisements for this o SNPhA is about promoting diversity, so they have partnered with the Diversity Committee and are holding a Pharmacy Got Talent event and diversity week. This will be the first week of April (April is diversity month). Throughout the week free lunches from different areas of the world will be offered and you will get information about that area and their pharmacy practices. The big event is possibly Friday, April 3 rd and there will be performances representing different cultures, food, and fun It will be a good time that will highlight our differences. If you have something you would like to do for this let them know.

5 APHA o Annual meeting in San Diego March o Hotel deposit due this Friday to the mailbox by 4pm if you are interested AZO o Faculty Auction Wednesday Feb 11 th in COB 1000B 5:30-7:30pm o This is a great way to get to know the faculty o Proceeds go to the Medical Mission Trips. Chris Gail o Dean Early asked him to stop by meetings to find out what we need and to hear any concerns. o Print quotas were not rolled over from last semester since Pat is gone and this is not an automated system. o Print trays will be locked because people are taking paper every day and people are flipping the 3 hole punch paper the wrong way. o Chris is the co-char of IT committee with Dr. Powers. If there is anything you need bring it up and they can figure it out. o UT is looking into putting class notes on itunes U, etc. because people don t want to print out everything, and it is very expensive to keep the printers operating. They are looking into better ways to do things than printing since it uses up a large portion of the technology fee. o At some point this summer both labs on MC and HSC will be shut down and completely updated Future Meeting Dates February 23 rd (WO 1240, 4:45pm) March 30 th (Martin Conference Room, 4:00pm) April 27 th (Martin Conference Room, 4:00pm)
