And, in the Antelope Valley, we have the winds to contend with, also. What would we do if we couldn't complain about the weather?? Our 9 th anniversary September rally will, again, be at the River Run RV Park in Bakersfield where we will be electing officers for This is an important Tracker meeting and I hope all of you are planning on attending. Thanks to all who have already sent in your payment. As I mentioned last month, we're giving back to the Mission at Kern County. Many Trackers are familiar with this homeless mission from past rallies. They provide meals, shelter, education and clothing for the less fortunate men and women in the Bakersfield area. After speaking to Mike Mullins at the mission, he confirmed that clothes, blankets, silverware as well as much-needed pillows (new OR used) would be really appreciated. Mike has offered a tour of the facility Saturday afternoon for our group. If that sounds like something you would be interested in, please drop me a note. I don't want to tie him up for an afternoon if no one is interested. Many Trackers toured the facility a number of years ago and we were really impressed with the facility and the programs available to the residents. It's nice to see where your donations go. I want to thank Gloria Hendershott for representing the Golden State Trackers at the upcoming FMCA 94th International Convention, Aug. 3 through 6, 2016, in West Springfield, Mass. It is there that the Governing Board with delegates from FMCA chapters nationwide vote on and approve important issues such as renewing the FMCAssist Medical Emergency and Travel Assistance Program for Richard will be representing another FMCA chapter so this worked out perfectly for them. Many of you probably think that we are still in the middle of summer. Well, not for my husband, Bill. He goes back to work Monday, August 8 th gathering material to keep us entertained at future rallies. What will we do when he retires?

2 PAGE 2 A kind warning to all cooks out there! Please be extremely careful if you use a mandolin slicer. I ended up slicing an eighth of an inch (that was the setting it was on, so it could have been worse!!) off the pad of my right pinkie. All they could do was cauterize it and 5 weeks later it is still an issue. Anyone want a free mandolin slicer? No, I'm kidding. It's going into the TRASH. Remember to mark your calendars for the September rally and I look forward to having a great turnout. Enjoy the rest of your summer (sorry Bill). Stay cool and stay safe, Nancy Carnes F# Chapter President Vice President s Message Hi Trackers, It has been a very warm summer so far. I hope that you are all staying cool. We are now Bob bought a portable air conditioner for us last week. We can use it in the living room during the day and then move it to the bedroom at night. It is a real life saver as it was 97 up here today Saturday. Since we are dark for July and August we are looking forward to seeing everyone in September at our 9 th anniversary rally at River Run RV Park in Bakersfield. We will be having our business meeting and also be voting in new officers. If you are interested in running for one of the offices, please contact either Nancy or myself. PLEASE NOTE: Please see the rally flyer for the Beat the Odds rally in Pahrump, NV. in October. This is a great group of people and a very fun rally. There is a slot tournament and a Bunco tournament. This will be our October rally as per our rally schedule. It is a 39 ½ ft. diesel coach with four slide outs. Other features include a rear view camera, leather upholstery, and new tires. It's also Blue Ox tow equipped. All this can be yours for $80,000. Rally fee includes Friday night and Saturday night RV spaces, Friday dinner, Saturday breakfast, Saturday dinner and Sunday breakfast. If you wish to come early and/or stay late be sure to let me know, and I will make the reservation for you, but you will be responsible for paying at the office for the extra nights at check in. It will be at the rally rate ($37 per night). There is no extra charge for your dogs. 4 PAGE 4 LEAVING TRACKS This month we are giving back to the Kern County Mission helping the homeless in Bakersfield since We have wrapped Christmas boxes for the residents in years past as well as served the residents' lunch. This year, though, we will donate clothes, blankets, shoes, silverware or PILLOWS to assist the less fortunate men and women in the Bakersfield area.
