3 2016 PRESIDENT S MESSAGE 2015 was another amazing year for the PMI Metropolitan St. Louis (PMIMSL) Chapter! PMI Global recognized the PMI Metro St. Louis Chapter with a 2015 Chapter Excellence award (Category III; 1,000 to 2,000 members) for its Collaboration and Outreach efforts. Winning awards from PMI Global 3 years in a row is a testimonial to our leaders, volunteers and members dedication and their commitment to the community they serve. Attendance at our dinner meetings grew significantly, membership grew by 3%, and social media presence increased by 20%. We increased the frequency of alternate venue meetings, re-started breakfast meetings, and had set up the groundwork for PMI-PBA certification. A new Job Aid section was added on our website to help members and employers with open job postings. For 2016, we will be focusing heavily on 5 goals. These are Increase Value to Membership, Increase Community Involvement, Increase PMIMSL Visibility, Improve Chapter Governance, and Improve Effectiveness of Communication. Overall member satisfaction, membership excellence, growth through value, community outreach will be some of the key focus areas throughout this year. As a direct result of the RCC members efforts, members from RCC companies participated in chapter events, IPM Day, and volunteered to assist with developing an elevator speech. Corporate Outreach also led the IPM Day Executive Reception which was the largest in IPM Day history with 3 SLU representatives and 16 executives in attendance. The presentation led by Laura Vitale was well-received by the Corporate executives who attended. Plans for future relationships with attending corporations are being established. 12 Jim Licata, PMP VP Marketing Marketing Marketing Board of Directors 2015 Thesina Adams Director of Sponsorships Geoji Paul Director of Branding Pat Wilson Director of Public Relations Marketing in 2015 had been presented with significant challenges. With an entirely new staff, volunteers pulled dual duty as their positions required, as well as orientated themselves with the Board. Budgetary constraints carried over from last year and the loss of funds from a long-term visionary sponsor, Keller Graduate School, limited movement in the Marketing programs. Despite the difficulties faced by the marketing team, we were able to supply PMI with an acceptable service level. Sponsorships: All sponsors, barring Keller College have renewed their annual sponsorship programs. In addition, we have added Saint Louis University (SLU) as a visionary sponsor who, this year, hosted IPM day, and are actively supporting Lunch Meetings in Illinois. We expect a continued strong relationship between SLU and our other visionary sponsors (Washington University, Bradford & Galt). Branding: We have an initiative to represent STLPMI as PMIMSL to be in-line with our official name at PMI national. This will take a lot of planning and communication between vendors, other PMIMSL groups and vendors. We started the base work in implementing the change and expect to offer PMIMSL to all in In addition to this major undertaking, we will continue to support PMIMSL with supplying marketing materials and branding standards. Public Relations: The position of PR is new to our organization in that it has been restructured as an initial contact/ sales position. The current director has vast experience building relationships in order to promote the organization through new channels. This position has potential to do great things. Summary of Achievements in 2015: On-Boarded new Marketing VP and Directors Created new event sponsorship programs Brought in new Visionary Sponsor Continued to offer Marketing Service Level Agreement Looking forward to 2016: The marketing team will hit the ground running with a more mature team and a focused agenda: Finalize global marketing plan with specific date and communication vehicle details Elicit new sponsors for event-specific programs created in 2015 Transition STLPMI to PMIMSL Continue to grow the Marketing group and its programs Meet all other strategic plan objectives for 2016

13 Fred Gowin, PMP VP Communications Communications Communications Board of Directors 2015 Robert Buck, PMP Director of Active Communications Prakash Kumar, PMP Director of Passive Communications Badri Chakravarthy, PMP Director of Social Media Michael Neace, PMP Newsletter Editor The Communications team had a very busy year. Every time the chapter holds an event, the communications team tells people about it. Through our website, newsletter, weekly digest, and social media channels, the team reaches over 10,000 people per month. We also participate in Region 6 committee meetings, and interact with the other chapters in the region. Web Communications: We re averaging 5000 visits per month to our website, and each visitor averages over 20 pages per visit. Our events are posted and admission can be purchased online. Our Weekly Digest goes out to over 3500 people as does our Bi-Monthly newsletter. We also send out surveys after our events to gather feedback. Social Media: Our Facebook page had quite an impact in We had 70 page visits since July, engaged 76 people, had a total reach of 1228, and received 32 new likes over the past year. For 2016 we are creating a Facebook group, giving us another public opportunity to discuss the art and science of Project Management. Our LinkedIn group now has 1673 members, and we have 963 followers on Twitter Statistics at a glance: Facebook - Total Reach: 1228 LinkedIn - Members: 1673 Twitter Followers ADMINISTRATION Administration Board of Directors 2015 Director of Metrics Director of Policy & Process Dirk Lupien, PMP VP Administration Administration is the area that keeps the Board operating at maximum efficiency! They are very much behind the scenes, but so crucial to our success as an organization! 2015 saw a concentrated effort to further identify, critically review and document our processes and procedures. Many of our processes had been documented and updated as necessary, but were reviewed and updated based on our new bylaws and board structure. We completed our Board Handbook and Policy Manual this year after a couple of years of work. We are completing the formal Transition Plans for incoming Board Members, but these documents will continually be updated. These plans will allow a seamless transition for our New Board as well as assist in continuity between Boards. We updated the Chapter s Strategic Plan, and identified Score Card items to track progress and areas needing further attention from the Board. This will better align our work on the Board with the goals of our members, especially with the new changes in CCR s reporting from PMI National. We identified two key measurements that each VP wanted to track to ensure they were meeting the needs of our members and are documenting them on a scorecard. We look forward to contributing to the growth of our Chapter in 2016!

14 William Johnson, PMP VP Finance FINANCE Finance Board of Directors 2015 Chris Ribando, PMP Director of Financial Analysis Edward Perez, PMP Director of Income Accounting & Records Management In 2015 the chapter successfully boosted attendance at all sponsored events while keeping expenses to a minimum. We closely monitored budget to actual expenses and coordinated with members of the Board to remain within budget for the fiscal year. All of this was accomplished while providing outstanding member services and activities to further project management professional development in the St. Louis Metropolitan community. The chapter was even able to host new venues in the Illinois Metro East area to support project management professionals, including the large number of professionals working at the Scott AFB. We look forward to the same success in 2016!
