5 5 of 12 4/25/2011 9:44 PM Option Please indicate why you are not likely to renew your Chapter membership: (5 Responses) Count Percent All you do is jam up my inbox and waste my time with your non-stop s Little value for expense I've tried to volunteer several times and have never been contacted when it was time to work. I was supposed to help monitor the PMI Southern Maryland web site. I had one meeting when there was no plan with how to utilize the volunteers, then I was never contacted again. I volunteered to help with the Blue Crabs day and was never contacted with information about when and where to meet, and I ed the director of volunteers twice to help with working on the chapter's charter and other documentation and was never contacted. You need to utilize the skills of your members better. I have been a PMI member for several years now and although I brought it up to the chapter early on, there is no real support or interest in having members who are civil service as I am. My goal when I began was to network and utilize opportunities in the chapter to prepare for and eventually take the PMP exam. This objective was never met. Additionally, a few years ago the chapter seemed to expand northward toward DC and the opportunities for local chapter events seemed to be few and far between I moved to Florida. I joined the Emerald Coast Chapter Total:

11 11 of 12 4/25/2011 9:44 PM Opportunities to earn PDU's for service on Chapter Committees's and in leadership roles Assist in PMI events locally? Golf tournament MS Project Courses Other Benefits 3 (3 Responses) Better events in Charles county? AAA Baseball/ social event Please provide any additional feedback or comments below: (16 Responses) Feel free to stop ing things to me. I have absolutely no interest in your organization. The majority of the chapter events are held during lunchtime and on Wednesdays. The location of the majority of the events are located towards the far end of the chapter boundaries. They need to be more centralized or changed monthly to varied locations. The date and time should also change to allow those people with meetings, etc. to not miss the same work function monthly. Integrate project management practices with program management, technical management and systems engineering. Currently, the local professional community does not practice project management. This makes the local PMI chapter pretty much useless! As a result it has degraded into a social club. The events for the SoMD Chapter have significantly increased in value and relativity in the past year thanks to a new leadership team that is dedicated to project management. I noticed a lot of the events take place in St. Mary's county. I work at the base in Indian Head and I would like to see more events in Charles County, that could take place after working hours. I'm sure th Southern MD Chapter is an excellent Chapter, but I haven't been able to get involved in it enough to provide fair feedback. I would very much like to become more involved in the Southern Maryland Chapter, but I work in Virginia and don't get home until late in the evening. I have been looking for a Chapter in the Northern Virginia area that might make more sense for me to be a part of since that is where I spend most of my time. It also makes it easier for me to attend seminars etc during the day for PDUs. I would get more involved in more webinars, but I work in a open cubicle which doesn't offer much privacey during the day, hence my options are limited, as is my schedule. The chapter has seen great improvement with new leadership in the offerings made to the membership over the last year. My handicap is although I live in Southern Maryland I work in Lanham area and I am unable to make it to any of the meetings. Time constraints prevent me from checking out the website. Any resolutions to help solve these handicaps greatly appreciated. Very staisfied with my local Cahpter. There is always room for improvment but I am an active member with the chapter and believe that as a volunteer organization it has been managed very effectively. Lots of events and PDU lunchtime meetings. I don't seem to be able to connect with the Chapter. I want to, but the Chapter seems to be low-key. Provide more information for retired PM's to perhaps work part time in PM positions or assist PM's on projects. SoMD Chapter has excellent topics and speakers. My only suggestion would be to have some of the meetings/speakers in the early evening. Lunch time meetings are difficult to attend due to workday commitments - it may open the chpater to an additional group of chapter members
12 12 of 12 4/25/2011 9:44 PM Would like to see some events held at locations other than Lexington Park/NAS Patuxent River (further North). Group appears to be very active and I look forward to participating with fellow members. Perhaps more could be done for members either unemployed or looking to go in new directions, i.e. new subject areas or starting a consulting business. Because of the lack of opportunities I have not only decided to not renew my chapter membership, but also PMI as a whole. Only reason I may switch to another local chapter is that I work in PG county and it's difficult for me to get to lunch N learn's etc in waldorf/pax river. Otherwise, programming is awesome. Logistical issue only
