1 Calendar Details PTK Valentine s Fundraiser o Date: Sunday, February 1 Thursday, February 12 o Time: 11:00am 1:00pm o PTK will be having a fundraiser selling carnations and goodie bags for Valentine s. o Cost: $5 for a carnation or goodie bag CSEA Raffle o Date: Monday, January 12 Wednesday, February 11 o Location: TC campus o Valentine s Day themed raffle basket to raise money for the CSEA Scholarship fund. The prizes will be toasting flutes, bottle of sparkling cider, chocolates, candies, stuffed animal, candles, and $100 Visa gift card. Dental Hygiene Fundraiser o Date: Monday, February 2 nd Monday, March 2 nd o Location: Dental Hygiene Building and Campus o Time: TBA o DH 2016 will be fundraising for graduation and other events for the semester. The gift basket will include an Oral B electric toothbrush, mouthwash, crest white strips, toothpaste, and other small dental aids o Laura L Ecuyer for more details

2 Best Buddies Movie Night o Date: Every Wednesday o Time: 6:00pm 8:00pm o Best Buddies will be hosting movie nights and everyone is welcome All Day Valentine s Movie Night o Date: Thursday, February 5 o Time: All Day o We will have delicious baked goods and show romantic movies all day. ASB Meeting o Date: Every Thursday (days can change o Location: Café Banquet Room o Time: 12:15pm Best Buddies Meeting o Date: Friday, February 6 o Location: CIL 731 o Time: 12:30pm Army Representatives o Date: Monday, February 9 & Tuesday, February 17 o Time: 9:00am 1:00pm o Come by and find out information about the army. They could tell you anything you want to know about the army and also come do some challenges for army equipment. Circle K Club Promotional Luncheon o Date: Tuesday, February 10 th o Time: 12:30 pm 1:30 pm o Greg Mudge will visit the campus to discuss kicking of a Circle K club on the Taft College Campus. Circle K will be the daughter club of the Taft Chapter of Kiwanis. It is open to all students with an ASB sticker. The requirements to become part of the club will be explained in the club s constitution. o Focus of Discussion: mission of club, officer positions, creating the constitution, scholarship opportunities, community service, and more. o Lunch will be provided on a first-come-first-serve basis. o Contact the ASB officer form more information

3 National University o Date: Tuesday, February 10 & Wednesday, February 25 o Location: Library o Time: 10:00am 1:30pm o Outreach activity with National University Representatives Eating Disorder and Nutrition o Date: Tuesday, February 10 o Location: Cafe o Time: 10:00am 1:00pm o We will have information for you about eating disorders and how they affect you. We will also have information on nutrition and why it is important. Best Buddies Sweets for your Sweets o Location: CIL Building o Time: 8:00am 3:00pm o Sweets for your Sweets treat sale fundraiser benefitting Relay for Life. It will be held in front of the CIL Building but if bad weather, it will be moved to the cafeteria. Financial Aid Info Table th o Time: 9:00 am 2:00 pm o Community college students have the opportunity to visit the Taft College Financial Aid table to receive information regarding the many financial aid options available to help cover the cost of college fees, books and other expenses. A financial aid staff member will be available to answer questions. University of La Verne o Location: Library o Time: 9:30am 3:00pm o Outreach activity with University of La Verne Representatives WKCCD Board Meeting o Location: Cougar Room o Time: 5 pm Closed; 6 pm Open

Valentine s Rally o Date: Thursday, February 12 o Time: 12:00pm o We will be having three rounds of games. They are called Ice Breaker, Gender Rules and Lick the Heart. Come out and participate with your partner and get a chance to win a dinner date pack for two. Student Success Committee o Date: Thursday, February 12 o Location: Cougar Room o Time: 2 pm 3:30 pm Valentine s Movie Night o Date: Tuesday, February 17 o Time: 8:30pm o We will have Valentine inspired evening of snacks and drinks while enjoying a romantic flick. The movie choice will be voted on at the ASB meeting on February 5 th. Come and enjoy a nice evening of relaxation while watching a movie with your friends or special friend. Black History Month Quiz o Date: Wednesday, February 25 o Time: After the ASB Meeting; 1 pm 5 pm o You could get a chance to win free food by taking the black history month quiz in the Student Union. First 10 people to get a %100 on the quiz will receive a food voucher. We will have posters recognizing iconic members of in the black community in the SU and around campus for the entire month. Taste of Soul o Date: Thursday, February 26 o Location: Old Board Room o Time: 11:00am 1:00pm o The ASB will be serving Fabious Corner s Famous BBQ to recognize Black History Month. Come and enjoy the food and have a good time with friends. You can earn a free plate by taking the black history month quiz on Wednesday, February 25 th in the Student Union. The first 10 people to get a %100 on the quiz will receive a food voucher. We will have poster about Black History in the SU the whole week. o Cost: $1 per item Winter Sport Rally o The ASB officers are working to find the best day and time to honor our women volleyball team. Information will be posted with the details of the rally once the date and time has been finalized.
