1 March 2016 Newsletter A Spring Note from Gloria: We are now on track to finish this year of Friends of Rockwall County Library with a bang! We are excited about our Easter Bonnet Tea with the famed, Rose-Mary Rumbley, on Tuesday, March 22 nd at 2:00 pm. IF you have not reserved your place please contact Judy Buffington, Space is limited. In April we have the delightful Petty s who will sing and play the piano into your heart. Finally we will be excited by the May 10 th program which is entitled A Dozen Fun Day Trips so you can plan places to explore this summer. Please plan to attend these great events. My motto as your president this year was the Three F s: Forward Moving, Fundraising, and Fellowship with Fun. I hope that you feel as I do that we have met all three of our motto goals. I especially hope that you have made new friends, gotten excited about our new logo and purpose which is to enrich and be a voice for this wonderful gem of a library that is right here in our community, and volunteered to get involved. I hope to see each of you these next few months at the library as we wrap this fun-filled year. Blessings to all. It has been a privilege to have served you. Gloria PS News for You: You may now pay for your luncheon reservation at the door via credit cards or the usual cash or check. This convenience is available at the table as you check in each month. Soon to be available will be a way to use your credit card to pay for reservations and special events on our website so, watch for that convenience to be announced. Also a new page has been added to our Friends website: under About Us at the top of the front page, you can click on the drop down menu and find Latest News. This is where all important news events will be placed for your convenience. Please check it out as well as our Facebook and Instagram pages. You do not have to be a member of either to see the Friends pages. Business Memberships Our Business Membership drive for will begin in May. This year 38 businesses joined Friends of the Library for a total of over $6,000. We would like to see more businesses join in and will be asking each member to ask one business to join. We all deal with businesses in Rockwall each day. Be thinking of a business you could encourage to join Friends. We will have business membership forms available at the May meeting. Take one or two and be a part of this important fund raising effort. Kathy Melston
