OPENING REMARKS Paul Comeau thanked everybody for coming. He asked if the membership preferred evening or weekend meetings. Everybody agreed that evenings worked out better. (Page 1)

2 II. MONTHLY STATUS REPORTS Secretary Leon Williams (Berlin) moved, seconded by Kim Fleury (Kearsarge), to accept the December 8, 2018 meeting minutes. The motion passed. 1 st Executive VP Matt Roy announced that Festival registration for Boys Select 12s will close tomorrow night at 6 pm. Walk-ins will not be permitted. Please reach out to Girls and let them know registrations are low. Registrar Roger Gilles announced that on January 1 st, all coaches who were not yet USAH-compliant were red-lined. The GSL add date for players was December 15 th ; USAH s deadline was December 31 st. Please reach out to Paul Comeau or Matt Roy with any questions regarding the add date for players. Call-ups are permitted. Please process call-ups through the local registrars. Paul Comeau announced that a pending roster rule may make the rostering process easier. He has been talking with the NED about this. Women s Executive VP Chris Cooper announced that registrations for Girls at Festival tryouts are low. Please help him reach out to Girls and let them know, and encourage them to register. Please send rosters and credential sheets in as soon as possible Squirts Executive VP Stephanie Laurin announced that games should be scheduled as soon as possible. She may start fining if games are not scheduled in a timely manner. Please send game sheets and credential sheets in as soon as possible. PeeWees Executive VP Joan Strogen announced that games should be scheduled as soon as possible. Please send game sheets and credential sheets in as soon as possible. Bantams Executive VP Paul Comeau announced that games should be scheduled as soon as possible. (Page 2)

3 Webmaster Kevin Fascetta announced that SportsNgin has rolled out a major upgrade, on the back end of things. Some of the local webmasters may have already noticed the new look. Functionality has not changed; however, all of the webpage controls are now in one area called HQ, and there is a navigation menu on the left side of the page. The help section has three video tutorials and a document explaining the changes. For example, scheduling and rostering are now found under Competition. Please pass this news on to schedulers, admins, webmasters, registrars, and anyone else who needs to know. SafeSport Coordinator Paul Comeau announced that four SafeSport hearings have been scheduled. Each association should have its own SafeSport Coordinator at this point, and should be attempting to handle complaints on the local level when it is possible to do so. SafeSport can be incredibly time consuming but it is a necessity. It would seem that most cases relate to complaints regarding the conduct of coaches; or, incidents taking place in locker rooms. There are more cases involving Girls than Boys, especially when Girls have male coaches or need to take turns using locker rooms with Boys. It has come to USAH s attention that some parents and players have been weaponizing SafeSport to retaliate against coaches or associations. Regardless, each case must be thoroughly investigated. If complaints are made directly to USAH, then NHAHA is asked to assist with the investigation. Some cases are kicked up to NHAHA by the associations when complaints cannot be handled on the local level. Sometimes complaints are made to NHAHA directly. If NHAHA is informed of a complaint before an association has been informed of one, NHAHA will contact the association in question so that the association knows what is going on. Again, SafeSport is time consuming, and Paul wished to think Cam Stoddard for his commitment to this program. Jen Fullerton (Plymouth) moved, seconded by Tim Fell (N. Cyclones), to accept all of the above monthly status reports. The motion passed. (Page 3)

4 III. UNFINISHED BUSINESS GSL Tournament Matt Roy announced that banners have been ordered. Team names will be added later so that banners are available directly after the tournament for photographs. NHAHA has already paid for team names to be added to the banners. Team trophies and medals will be available for the champion team and the runners up. T-shirts will be available for all players. All of the latest tournament information has been posted to NHAHA s tournament website. Materials will be distributed at next month s meeting. IV. NEW BUSINESS Grant Applications Paul Comeau announced that Mike Durant sent notifications out on January 1 st to all who applied for grants. The notifications let applications know if they received a grant; or, why a grant will not be issued. If a notification letter has not been received, please reach out to Mike. Grants were not issued in the event of non-sanctioned play violations or non-compliance with USAH rules and regulations, because the grant money came from USAH. Victor Drouin (Backbay) asked Paul why he and Matt Roy have not responded to his s regarding what these things mean and how they relate to Backbay s not being in good standing. Paul explained that the Bylaws require members to be in compliance with USAH rules and regulations. Victor disagreed. Paul suggested for Victor to meet with him after the meeting with regard to USAH s rules and regulations, and Backbay s related non-sanctioned play violations and non-compliance. Victor expressed his frustration with how these issues have been handled both this year and last year. He asked for everything to be in writing. Leon Williams (Berlin) expressed a similar frustration. Paul explained that it was already in written form, as a notification. Paul asked if Victor had anything to add about grant applications. Victor announced that Backbay planned to seek legal counsel regarding this matter. Paul acknowledged Victor s frustration and offered to schedule a hearing for Backbay. He suggested for Victor to bring his legal counsel along if he desired to do so. Victor complained about the hearing committee board. He said that it was not fair for Paul to be both judge and jury. Paul explained that he did not sit on the hearing board. Other men and women sit on the hearing committee board. Paul announced that it was time to get on with the meeting. (Page 4)

5 N.H. Monarchs Booster Scholarships Paul Comeau announced that $500 camp scholarships are available. There is an application process. Please check out the N.H. Monarchs website for details. Non-Sanctioned Play Violations Paul Comeau announced that hearings have been scheduled for non-sanctioned play violations. Tryout Restrictions for National-Bound Teams Paul Comeau announced as a reminder, that per USAH, tryouts may not be held for at least 48 hours after national tournaments for national-bound teams. V. CLOSING STATEMENTS Paul Comeau thanked everybody for coming. The meeting was adjourned at 7:40 pm. The next meeting will be held on February 16, 2019 here at the Holiday Inn. (Page 5)
