1 Student Senate Minutes SUNY Delhi Delhi NY, November 1 st, 2017 President Sashagay Watt called meeting to order at 5:15pm. 2 nd by NECA. Secretary Emily Gleason took attendance; 38 clubs in attendance, 0 clubs were late, MPI was absent. HMS is excused from the meeting with prior knowledge of the executive board. made a motion to approve minutes October 18th. 2 nd by Fine Arts. 38 in favor, 2 Opposed, none abstained. None Horticulture- Terrarium workshop Guest Speaker Announcements Computer Club- Lanfest November 11 th 8am-8pm in the Farrell commons History Brothers of the Blacklist documentary showing Sunday november18th at 5:00pm in Centennial center There will be snacks provided Greek Council- All star contest LIU and DOE to vote who you want to participate, come to their table in Farrell Center LAU is having LAW week the week of November 13 th. SPB- Lets make a deal November 9 th at 7:00pm in Okun Theater NYSAFT- Dog Wash November 18 th, 2017 from 9 am-3 pm Dogs must be placed on a leash and have proof of rabies Please Emma Carson at EC16@live.delhi.edu for any questions
2 Step it up- Step show November 11 th, 2017 at 8:00pm in Okun Theatre President Sashagay Watt gave advice about talking with other clubs in regards to other working with other organizations. Additionally, if no one runs for Student Senate positions, it will be really difficult for student voices to be heard. If you re interested please talk to the positions and join the committees. Secretary, Emily Gleason No report Treasurer, Genevieve Fanfan Officers Report Secretary Treasurer When you will be fined, there will be an sent out to your organization as well as a letter in your mailbox. ATEC based on what was discussed last meeting, the org will have $250 taken from their budget $1,950 College players: 1 absent, 1 late, 1 excused. MPI fined a $25 fee Vice President, Ryan Ali No report President, Sashagay Watt Vice President President No senate meeting next Wednesday November 8 th, We will be picking a day to have a president s council for our organizations. We will have every president, including all 16 Greek organizations as well as every club. Well discuss how everything is going, what is our goal, how can we accomplish it. It your president cannot make it, your vice president can make it in your place. This meeting will be held with no one in the room except for the presidents and the executive board leaders and face of your organization discussing your needs and what you want.
3 Old Business Resolutions in regards to the smoking, the Zipcars, and on Skateboards based on the discussion at previous meetings. They will be attached to these minutes Changed made by President Sashagay Watt to have to increase of the smoking to $10 instead of $5 during each offence. New Business Turf Club: Made a motion for an allocation requesting $5,000. For a club sponsored event to compete in the turf bowl from January. The club is looking to sponsor 2 teams of 4 as well as advisor. They have fundraised as well. Students responsible for some of the cost, as well as other personal workshops. Last year we placed 4 th in the nation behind Penn State. President Sashagay Watt: How much money is left in your budget? Turf: we raised $1,500. We needed $700 to be spent on hotels for a trip to a golf course. We have $23,997 left. 2 nd by computer 38 in favor None opposed PGM abstained Motion passed Ms Defreece is here to be taking notes. If any clubs are open to host with us AS238@live.delhi.edu Advisor, Lawrence Mannolini III Advisory report November 2 nd, 2017 at 12:00pm, himself, Nick Wagner and Naomi Birch will be out of the office. The office will be open and staffed with students for questions. A reminder if anyone is planning an event they need to first complete the Event Form. The earlier you plan, the easier it will be to put on the event. The campus labs system, Engage is all paid for and there will be a phone call between Lawrence and Nick Wagner to go over the next steps to putting the platform into place. Adjournment President Sashagay Watt made a motion to end the meeting at 6:45 2 nd by PGM. Motion passed. Meeting ended
