President Met with minister of labor and education Had a round table about CFS Advocated for international students in healthcare Easier access way for them to get permenant residency in NS
2 Elimination of diferential fees (on the universities to take a stance) Government should also advocate because of funding Government meeting Looked at what a free education would look like Very discussion based Drafting a letter to minister of health Mental health access, International health care and feminine hygiene products Proposed to have the minister come and view campus and have his voice on campus Board of govenors and senate this week We cant afford a 6% increase some good conversation about that Brought up eliminating the distance education fee It is an arbitrary fee that doesn t benefit students Femine hygiene products on campus Budget Have to miss class if they do not have something on hand NDP adopt a resolution behind this Provide an access to that hoping university will help fund that SRC found it to leading so I brought it to CFS to make it a lot more basic, only 5 questions Up until Monday its on the student union facebook page Making recommendation on Monday and push that to budget Draft of the copy from Metro in regards to the Summer Upass You must be in two or three courses in order to be eligible Full fee of the upass even if you only use it during Summer 2 Waiting on response from that

Will Brewer accessibility had a bake sale Been contacted by two Kings students about being the Town Crier 6. Committee Reports 7. Old Business Joined about Politics society and volunteered with Rec Society for Mardi Gras Speaking to kids at the Keshmen Goodman Library about being a town crier Guest Speaker at NSSSA on April 14 th Second reading of shinearama coordinator positon Motion to approve the shinearama coordinator position and move to budget and review how much is in the budget (Bryan/Brewer)CARRIED (18-SRC-03) 8. New Business a. Sponsorship requests and online votes No more sponshorship or funding requests over because there can be no more changes made. Please agenda so counsellors are briefed on before the meeting.
4 b. Accessibility passport Hoping to have an interior map on campus for accessible needs. Title it student life. Provide services on getting to know the services that we have at the school. Change wording to tool kit. Include union in the services located on the map Need ideas to help Strike a committee to help figure out what assistance is needed Motion to strike an adhoc committee to investigate accessibility tool kit (Brewer/O Keefe) Include VP advocacy and have the general manager and representative from accessibility services and then a couple of counsellors CARRIED (18-SRC-04) 9. 5 Appendix a. Vice President Communications Update Since we ve been back from break several societies have been incredibly active. The Grad Ball society has organized a discount day at DSW shoes this Sunday, the Accessibility Society hosted a bake sale, and the Fine Arts Society hosted their Art and Talent show last night that was incredibly successful. Next week Best Buddies MSVU will be beginning their Spread the Word to End the Word campaign. Last week we had an interview with Global news surrounding the Glaze report and the petition circulated by the B.Ed. students and us. The BOG meeting was last night, and today CPP has also met and worked on some policy that we will be bringing forwards at the next SRC Meeting. The Newsletter appears to be working and I m going to try and promote some of the non-events aspects of the newsletter, so that we can highlight students more.
