You should have received an with the Options Booklet attached, this is also available on the school website in Parents/ Letters home section. You will receive a hard copy of the booklet before the evening. Please ensure you bring this copy with you on the evening. Many thanks. Mr Moores Deputy Headteacher CAR PARK SYSTEM Please can parents ensure that all signs in the car park are adhered to, especially the No Entry signs in the front car parking area. This is for the health and safety of all our students, staff, parents and visitors. Mr Bramwell BUS PAYMENTS A reminder to parents of students who use the bus; payment for term 2 is due in full by Tuesday 1 March as per the schedule letter. Mrs Wadey Finance Assistant ROCK CHALLENGE Rehearsals In order to prepare for the performance on Monday 14 March 2016 there will be several rehearsals during out of school hours. These dates are the following: Saturday 6 February Tuesday 16 February Thursday 18 February Sunday 21 February Sunday 28 February Saturday 5 March 1pm 5pm 10am 4pm (set crew from 11am) 10am 4pm (set crew from 11am) 1pm 4pm 1pm 4pm 1pm 5pm It is important to attend the rehearsals however I do understand if there are prior arrangements. Please let me know if your child is unable to attend any of the rehearsals so that I can organise them accordingly. Tickets Unfortunately the window for booking tickets through the school for Rock Challenge has past. If any parent wishes to purchase tickets for the performance on Monday 14 March at Portsmouth Guildhall please do so by contacting the box office directly on from Monday 8 February Forms The deadline for all medical forms/coach payments and payments for ordered hoodies is Friday 5 February. Please ensure this deadline is met, contact Miss Harper for a new form if necessary. Miss Harper

2 (Continued from page 1) RAISE THE ROOF FOR PARKINSON S UK, ST MICHAEL S HOSPICE AND THE STUDENT LEADERSHIP GROUP Aldworth s Charity Team will be hosting our annual charity evening on Friday 12 February 2016 to raise money for Parkinson s UK, St Michael s Hospice and the Student Leadership group. Please see the attached letter for this event. Tickets can be purchased from reception from Monday 1 February or on the night, 4.00 for adults and 2.00 for children. Thank you for your support. Miss Harper OSMINGTON BAY We have now filled all 50 available spaces on the Osmington Bay trip and currently have four reserves. Further information and suggested payment plans will be sent out shortly. Here is the link again: Mrs Paterson YOUTH WORKER VACANCY IN BUCKSKIN, SOUTH HAM AND BRIGHTON HILL We are advertising for a new Youth Worker at Westside Community Centre. Please see the attached advert with full details. Nicky Blunden Westside Community Centre BADMINTON KEY STAGE 3 BOYS Joshua May, Adam Hargood, Clarke Randall and Junhuai Hou represented Aldworth in the County Badminton competition at Westgate School on Monday. The competition was tough and they managed to finish 3rd in their group. There were some very close games such as (win) when Josh and Clarke played doubles against another school and again (win) when Josh played singles. The boys put up a good fight against rival schools. Well done to the team. GIRLS YEAR 9 RUGBY Venecia Gillatt, Olivia Wade, Jasmine Bullion, Mollie White and Nina Johncock trained and played against 11 other schools in the Basingstoke Girls Rugby afternoon on Tuesday. They all braved the wind and rain to learn new skills and play matches. They teamed up with Everest to create a team of 11 - calling themselves 'Everworth'. They did very well and tried their hardest with the weather being so miserable! Well done girls. RACHEL ROBERTS - HOCKEY Massive congratulations to Rachel Roberts who has gone through many rounds of elimination to qualify for the Hampshire Hockey squad. We are very proud of her for getting in and beating a lot of competition. We would like to wish her the very best in her training and for future matches playing with the County team.

3 Our Ref: AHR/LRS 29 January 2016 Dear Parents, Students and Colleagues Re: Raise the Roof for Parkinson s UK, St Michaelss Hospicee and the Studentt Leadership group The Student Leadership and Rock Challenge team invite you y to a school production to raise money for Parkinson s UK, a charity helping individuals and families affected by the condition, St Michael s Hospice, a charity helping individualss with life-limiting illnesses and the Student Leadership group. The evening will featuree the Aldworth School Rock Challengee team performing their t Rock Challenge entry e dance, Aldworth School Cheerleaders and many more theatrical performances from a variety of students.. The production will take place on Fridayy 12 February at 6.00pm. Tickets are available from the school reception for a contribution off 4.00 for adults andd 2.00 for r children. There willl be an interval where refreshments will be available and raffle tickets will be on sale, which will be drawn during the evening. All proceeds from the evening will be donated to Parkinson s UK, Stt Michael ss Hospice and the Student Leadership group Students have worked very hard for months during lunch times and after school to bring you this production.
