In 2013, Neighbor to Nation helped thousands of generous donors throughout the United States to use their living to change lives in myriad positive ways. Neighbor To Nation charities participated in over 100 government and private sector workplace giving campaigns, reaching millions of donors whose gifts are making a difference for people in the U.S. and throughout the world. Neighbor To Nation s participating charities provide many different services, ranging from disaster relief to medical research to Christian ministry. Yet their ultimate goal is the same: to change and save lives across the globe. Neighbor To Nation is proud to embrace that same goal, and to support our charities as they fund and orchestrate their exemplary missions. Neighbor To Nation s Board of Directors and staff have worked hard to maximize our impact and our efficiency. We have developed new opportunities for our charities to partner with donors, provided better services for our charities and reduced our costs. 4 Dear Friends, Our theme for 2013 was On the Move. We chose this theme as we anticipated a year of moving forward in the service that we provide to our charities and donors. As I reflect back over the last year I can say without a doubt that we were truly on the move! We were on the move in training and supporting our participating charities for greater results in state and local workplace giving campaigns. The Annual Conference was perhaps our very best ever. Keynote speakers from Charity Navigator and Guidestar provided insight for moving forward in this era of nonprofit work. We were and will continue to be on the move with accountability and transparency to every constituency that we serve. Our commitment to cost-effectiveness does not end with simply saving money. The glass walls throughout our office are a physical reminder of our transparency. Our proprietary web-based system PledgeNet gives our participants 24/7 access to financial data for every campaign in which they participate. I welcome your questions and will answer with clarity and integrity. We were on the move with building a strong staff team to serve participating charities in application, marketing and fiscal areas. The Neighbor To Nation staff are the very best in the service they provide. Throughout 2013 I had many opportunities to meet with donors and potential donors. I am grateful for the diligence that donors demonstrated as they made decisions to donate to Neighbor To Nation charities. Budgeted expenses are funded by cost recovery from revenue received from donations. Costs are recovered on the basis of a 10.3% fee structure. NTN does not have minimums, dues, or other separate service charges attached to participation for members within the management service agreement. Federation fees are inclusive, with no other fees or charges from the federation or from other entities. NTN has an option for national and local unaffiliated organizations to participate in our Public Sector Program. For this option, we charge an upfront application fee. 7 In tough economic times, careful management of limited resources becomes critically important to nonprofits like Neighbor To Nation. In 2013, NTN staff worked to find strategies to increase revenue, decrease expenses, and continually improve the services we provide to participating charities and to workplace donors. In 2014, we will continue to strive to use the resources entrusted to us as efficiently as possible.
