Matt Gregory, Kirkland Club. 1. Attendance: 9 of 11 Clubs* attending, including Past Lt. Gov. s Joseph Murashie and Harry Dingwall. a. Guests: 19 members of Providence Point Club which held a joint meeting as host club. b. See sign-in sheet attached if qualify for interclub. 2. Acting Secretary: Minutes by David Walter edited by Matt Gregory. 3. 6:30 Dinner: Fish sticks, salad, fruit and cookies by Ferrin and Nancy Lauve, PP Club. 4. 7:05 Opening: Led by Marjorie McClurg, Pres. of PP Club. 5. Lt Gov. Reports: a. Division 28 i. Conference for LG Elect Election: 1. Nominee: Offering his name for nomination is Ferrin Lauve, Past Pres. of Redmond and Providence Point Clubs. 2. Call of Election: Verbal notice given at meeting and second notice by the written minutes for Division Conference to elect the Lt. Gov. Elect at the Sept 18 th meeting; each club has two votes. ii. LG Visitations: None this month due to ICON. iii. Interclubs: No report. iv. Sec. Reports: See summary attached, only 6 in. v. Membership: See summary attached, +7. vi. Club Elections: All reported except Redmond. b. Pacific Northwest District i. Club Leadership Education (CLE) At DCON Aug 15 th or on line at ii. DCON Get your tail to Seatac Aug 15-18, Basic Reg. $198 includes 3 Sat meals, see: c. Kiwanis International i. International Convention, Vancouver, BC June Delegates at Vancouver celebrating 50 Anniv. 2 2. Had 23 Div. 28 attendees, 8 on host committee, and 9 on dinner cruise; see attached photos. ii. Next Convention July 2014 in Tokyo, Japan 25 th Anniv. Of Asia Pacific Federation. iii. Following Convention June 2013 in Indianapolis, IN home of KI Offices 100 th Anniv. OF Kiwanis Intl. where first Woman Pres. will be elected. iv. Kiwanis International Foundation 1. Kiwanis Int$21.5 million in assets; awarded $150,000 in grants get your application in. 2. Eliminate: $35.6 million in or pledged for first two years with three to go to reach goal of $115 million. v. Service Leadership Programs 1. All are growing in double digit %. 6. Program-Presentation: ICON Experiences Div. 28 members shared their experiences of opening session, being first time attendee, sitting in on workshops, listening to moving presentation, coming better informed about Eliminate, volunteering on host committee, going on dinner cruise, meeting Kiwanians from around the globe, and closing session. BC Dinner Cruise Bell Ringers (note fingers for Div 2 8 with sun rising) 7. Club Reports (brief important summary) a. 3 b. Bellevue Getting ready for BBQ Beef sales at Arts Fair and new breakfast for Jubilee Outreach. c. Issaquah - Selling hot dogs at Concerts on the Green and are charter members for Friends of Lake Sammamish. d. Issaquah Valley NO REPORT, but Sec report shows attending meetings. e. Kirkland July 4 th parade float took 3 rd place and meetings moving to Hector s starting Aug 7th. f. Kirkland Sunrisers Hosted KITH community supper with help of KCK and still doing monthly Kiwanis Park cleanup. g. Mercer Island Fireworks gross $62K with three organizations, net 50% to split. h. Northshore Bothell NO REPORT, but had attendees at ICON. i. Providence Point Fund drive concluded and making awards to various organizations. j. Redmond July meeting canceled, Secretary can no longer attend due to new job, and August may mean new meeting location, day and time! k. Sammamish Selling ice cream at local events. l.
