The main duties include: shelving books in the proper location, alphabetizing books on carts, scanning books on the shelf for inventory, and possibly going around to classrooms to collect books. As far as qualifications: volunteers need to have a basic understanding of alphabetization and the Dewey system; the ability to focus on detail, and not mind lots of knee bending. Family Reading Partnership Suzie Brache suzie@familyreading.org Family Reading Partnership needs volunteers to help out at a community event! Starting around 10:00 am and finishing by 5:00pm, there are many activities and time slots within that range. The Kids to Camp Golf Tournament is a great opportunity to get out and meet the amazing people of our community as well as give back to a great cause. Volunteers are needed to stand by the garbage bins, tell people where they should toss their garbage and a quick fact, and that s it! Not only can a lot of volunteer hours be accumulated, but also for every 1.5 hours that you volunteer, you earn a coupon worth 5 BRBS! Rescue Mission Mike Foster Volunteers are needed at the Rescue Mission emergency homeless shelter at 618 W. State St. There are opportunities to help with the Food Pantry and Friendship Center (drop in day center) during the day, as well as holiday meal preparation and serving for Thanksgiving/ Christmas.
