1 Grand Chapter of Delaware Order of the Eastern Star Organized November 14, 1921 June 5, 2013 Dear Sisters and Brothers: Can t never did anything, is an expression that my father would spout at me every time I would say, It can t be done or I can t do it. How applicable his saying is to the feelings I heard expressed at Grand Chapter relative to the Printed Program fund raiser for Special Needs Children. Anything can be done if we simple commit ourselves to the effort. With effort on our part, we can make the Printed Program a successful fund raiser for Delaware s Special Needs Children. One could not be more than moved if they were present at Grand Chapter and witnessed the children we helped last year with our dollars. While we can proud of what we did this past year for Special Needs Children, we all realize that the children helped represent a small portion of the children in Delaware that have special needs and desperately need the help of society in general and our Grand Chapter in particular. We cannot ignore these children. We must make an all-out effort to assist them. Therefore, I am asking your assistance in making our Printed Program once more one of the major fund raisers for Delaware s Special Needs Children. Enclosed in this packet are (a) this letter, (b) the price sheet for ads, (c) ad form, (d) booster list form, (e) memorial and dedication form, (f) summary of the use of Special Needs funds last year, (g) a do and don t list and (h) accounting sheet. Checks for this project should be made payable to Grand Chapter of Delaware OES. With permission of our Worthy Grand Matron, Doris Egbert, the deadline for material for the Printed Program booklet is November 10 th. All money, ads, booster lists, memorials and dedications should be sent to the Chairman, William Lott, at P.O. Box 186, Dagsboro, DE As an added incentive to make this program a success, Brother Bill and Sister Barbara Lott will award the Chapter that raises the most funds with a free pork dinner at their chapter for their members. They have done this in the past as an incentive program for another Masonically related group in another jurisdiction and they look forward to rewarding your efforts here in Delaware s Order of the Eastern Star. Now is the time to say can do and make this year s Printed Program one that each of us can be proud to contribute our all-out effort. We as the Printed Program Committee look forward to working with each of you on behalf of Delaware s Special Needs Children.
