Great conference! Conference was great! 4
5 Thank you for having a CBHN & wraparound grad support our table! We utilized her lived experience with wraparound & family driver care!! Thank you Great Job! I loved New Hop session so informative. Loved the breakouts this year! New info. Was good & broader topics were enjoyed. Excellent speakers & contacts Provide more breakout sessions Continue to highlight programs & partnerships that are not funded by federal or state funds community & business relationships natural relationships. Really enjoyed learning from you & me = together Parents really have to be partners Thank you! Great conference! Wonderful Most of the concepts covered were already familiar to me, but the speakers did a nice job! Great agenda facility panel of speakers Loved Jan s keynote Better coffee! Schedule flowed smoothly and food was great! It would be nice if the networking portion had more structure (for the introverts). The conference went well and the keynote speakers was up-to-point on their issues. Would like to see an afternoon keynote speaker that is more engaging. Jan Moss was great! Better coffee Another awesome conference thank you! Excellent!! I would have liked the breakout sessions to repeat so we could go to two of them. New Hope & OICA were excellent additions more organizations that aren t just disability-related, please very important. Great! Repeat breakout groups Roundtables needed more agencies Separate round tables in different rooms so we can better hear the presentation Need more community service partners/agencies with booths & information This conference was very informative & helpful to me for my personal life as a parent of a child with a disability as well as a professional. DRS Session Shorten lunch & end 30 minutes earlier Great job! So much great info & so much fun. 5
6 Thank you for all your hard work! Jan was fun, but I didn t get a central message. I loved hearing from Jan parents have such an important perspective. Talk more specifically about active groups and how they can be formed. I would have liked to see more sessions (not at the same time, but that I could attend.) More time needed for round table discussion I would have like to do this during lunch or have longer for this part. Non at this time Very enlightening! My first conference The round table was a great and valuable component. Having a representative at each table would have helped. Jan Moss was a delight so nice to hear personal stories. Really enjoyed networking opportunity. Good job! More time in a breakout session, or opportunity to go to a 2 nd breakout session would be nice. The services booth provided excellent information. What Additional Training Would You Like to Have in Your Area? A track for new families/advocates. Community collaboration; working with community partners. I would like to have programming in our area that will adapt to the needs of people in rural Oklahoma. More info on how to get my school interested in Lifecourse. Any type of training for our teachers & parents. Everything Non-traditional school planning not just checking boxes on an IEP form. Add me: * Cheryl@cherylginnings.com (please put me on lists) Everything! As far as I know there is none in Hughes County. Any that is offered. Resources for special needs, children with behavioral concerns, children with drug & alcohol abuse concerns. Parenting skills. Trauma & advocacy (self & family members, not just parents.) DD issues on vocational options No representation of public or private schools (K-12) Behavioral Health & the Spiritual Realm Parent advocacy in health care and health professions education IEP/504 advocacy/parent training Advocacy for individuals with disabilities, outreach to the community for specific services, etc. Really appreciated the diversity & underserved communities that were represented. 6
7 Mental health resources, infant mental health, trauma informed parenting & care Advocacy tools & techniques All these topics need to go On the Road. How to have a successful parent support group parent to parent support More disability specific training and parents, workers, professionals who have experience with special needs kids to adulthood. Stories & strategies that have helped. More tips on lobbying/talking to lawmakers. Help in areas that are problems in rural Okla. How to connect resources to families in poverty New Hope Helping new professionals connect. 7
