In English, this means: Advise Allison Zeller on procedral matters nder Robert s Rles of Order Manage the By-laws and other Chapter docments* Manage the process of identifying the slate of officers for the San Antonio Rose Chapter for the year Train class Ticktockers that are serving as Class Parliamentarians *Last year (14-15), the Chapter nderwent a revision of its By-laws. Rebecca Long, my predecessor, and a By-laws Committee worked to incorporate or Chapter s practices into a template established by National. The end reslt is an easier to read, streamlined docment that delineates the langage reqired by National and the langage specific to or Chapter. This year (15-16), or Chapter will ndergo a conversion of or Standing Rles and Ticktocker Procedres into one docment called the Policies and Procedres Manal for San Antonio Rose Chapter of National Charity Leage, Inc. This new manal shold, Jill Vassar, Parliamentarian with daghter Caroline jst like the By-laws, make the rles and how we do things easier to read in a streamlined docment. It, too, will delineate the langage reqired by National and the langage specific to or Chapter. Yor Board will take the opportnity of this process to clean p some ambigities in or existing docments. The Board will approve some of the new policies and the Active Patronesses will approve others. Please nderstand, this approval process is simply converting existing rles and procedres into a new docment. There are no plans to make any significant changes! We have to vote on them simply becase they are in a new format bt the voting shold be perfnctory. The Policies Committee (Erika Ganey, Rebecca Long, Nicole McNeel, Kelley Nittoli, Jlie Perez, Catherine Spezia and myself) hopes to complete this conversion by December 31, 2015, with another month or two of grace for any nexpected isses. Please extend a word of thanks to the committee members for this crcial work they are doing behind the scenes. Of corse, I am happy to answer any qestions at any time. I look forward to seeing everyone at the Patroness meetings and I thank yo for yor commitment to NCL!

5 Commnication Comments The Commnications Committee is responsible for the many ways we as a chapter share information. I am very gratefl to be working alongside so many dedicated and talented ladies. The move to a new website has been a dominating topic when we think of the Commnications Committee this past year. While the kinks in the new system are being worked throgh, I wold like to thank the Board for remaining open and flexible in this regard. As yo are aware, the decision has been made to delay or migration ntil sch time as the new system is flly fnctional. Many, many painstaking hors were devoted by several members of the Board as well as members of or website transition team evalating and learning the new platform. We wold not be where we are withot the wisdom and spport of Sstainer Patroness Mindy Dabert who worked tirelessly over the smmer months to assist in the correct assessment of this new tool. We as a Board feel very confident in the path that has been chosen for the good of the chapter. Jlia Reinhart is once again amazing s with a beatifl and informative Chapter Newsletter. The Rose Report is an important resorce for commnicating pcoming events as well as sharing accomplishments of or incredible membership. We love to hear from or Patronesses and Ticktocker Classes so we can celebrate their achievements. Please encorage yor class to send Jlia any newsworthy information. Ann Deeds and Anne McGarragh have done a phenomenal job ptting together or print directory. We are the last chapter in District 18 to still provide this helpfl tool to or provisional, active and sstainer membership. If yo missed collecting yor copy at the first two patroness meetings, yo can pick yors p at my hose 123 Parklane Drive in Olmos Park. Or Ticktockers can benefit from the print directory as well. The information fond on the Class pages can be sed to assist them with their role dring their Ticktocker Class meetings. On these pages they can find birthday, contact information and the roles that each member of the class plays to make the year a sccess. Or Patroness Photographers, Elizabeth Swanson, Beth Hoser and Nicole Garcia are working hard to record or Patroness and Chapter Events with images that will be sed by or Historians, Nolette Brell and Tifini Frst, to create or slideshows presented at the Senior Recognition Event and Mother Daghter Tea. These Patroness Partners will also be working with or Ticktocker Photographers and Historians to ensre that they are Sharon Noble, VP Commnications with daghter Emily captring memories for their class throghot the year. We look forward to sharing wonderfl presentations with the Chapter at these special Spring events. Finally, probably the most wellknown tool in or tool box for sharing information with members is or Chapter website. Once again, Elaine Hicks is rocking her roll as Calendar Patroness. She has been qick to post all the Patroness and Ticktocker Class events. This is a big responsibility and Elaine takes it all in stride. Barbara McBirnie and Lpita Molina are helping with a hge project to migrate all or chapter photos to a new location on Smgmg where we will be able to easily store fll resoltion images. Watch for more information abot this new development coming soon. When yo see any of these special ladies, I hope yo will join me in thanking them for their tremendos work for the Chapter. We wold all be lost withot their hors of dedication to the commnications of the Chapter.

6 Ticktocker Talk My name is Beth Welsh and my daghter, Jacqelyn (Class of 2019), is a Freshie at Alamo Heights. This is or 3rd year in NCL and we coldn t be more gratefl for the friendships we ve made and the volnteer opportnities that have taght s both rewarding life lessons and opened or hearts. My first year in NCL, I was appointed Class of 2019 Grade Level Advisor (GLA). The following year, I was Class of 2019 Head GLA and this year I am fortnate to be VP of Ticktockers. After my two year Ticktocker Immersion, I hope to revamp and improve the Ticktocker Class Meetings. I am eager to encorage Ticktockers to master their jobs and become confident leaders in their Board/ Officer positions AND to make each Class meeting more FUN! In other words, I want Ticktockers to Rock their Role! This year my goal as VP Ticktockers is to encorage GLAs and Patroness Partners to make a difference in or girls leadership skills. My hope is that Ticktockers will take ownership of their jobs and be better prepared administering their Beth Welsh, VP Ticktocker, with daghter Jacqelyn reports. I do not want them to have ho-hm grade level meetings bt to have energetic, creative, fn, edcational and inspiring meetings. Or Ticktockers shold walk away feeling confident in their job knowledge and be enthsiastic for their next meeting. Good lck to all GLAs and Patroness Partners this year. I am willing to help yo in any way possible to achieve this goal. Provisional Pointers It is an honor to serve as the Provisional VP for the San Antonio Rose chapter, a new position on the Board of Directors. As defined in the NCL, Inc. Handbook, the role of the Provisional VP is to spport the Provisional members and help develop them into engaged, contribting members with a strong nderstanding of their roles within NCL. That s a tall order, and it s going to take the entire Active membership to fill it! To those of yo who sponsored one of the wonderfl Patronesses of the Class of 2021, thank yo bt remember that yor job didn t end when her name was drawn! I rge yo to be in reglar contact with yor sponsored Provisional Patroness, making sre that she and her daghter are not only flfilling the reqirements of membership, bt also developing meaningfl friendships along the way. To the wonderfl Patronesses and Ticktockers of the Class of 2021, welcome again! We are thrilled that yo have joined s on the NCL jorney. Shold yo find yorself overwhelmed by meetings and volnteer shifts and Amy Hawk, Provisional VP, with daghter Sarah committee dties and leage hors vs. philanthropy hors take a deep breath and give me a call. There is mch to learn in this first year, and we ll get throgh it together! Along the way, I hope yo ll take advantage of every opportnity to develop new skills, forge new friendships and serve or commnity bt mostly, I hope that yo ll foster yor relationship with yor daghter and cherish yor moments together! I look forward to a great year with yo!

7 Membership Mentions There is always something happening in Membership! We spent the smmer pdating or Membership files paper and online so that we have the most accrate information for each member. If yo see something in yor online profile that is incorrect, please correct it, and let s know so that we can correct or paper files. We want to make sre all information is correct before switching over to the new system in the spring. Even thogh we may jst be getting into or school year rotine, or NCL reporting year rns April 1 March 31, so we are actally halfway done! This means that half yor reqired Leage and Philanthropy hors need to be completed and logged into the website by October 31. That goes for Ticktockers and Patronesses alike. Yo mst complete this reqirement to be considered for elected office or to sponsor new members. Which brings me to my next topic: or annal Membership Drive! It s time to think abot who yo can sponsor to be considered as a new member. Intent to Sponsor Forms are available to download from the website. And for yo crrent Patronesses with 6th grade daghters, please fill ot a Legacy Form (also on the website), so that we will know how many spaces we ll have for new members. Both Sallie Gy, VP Membership, with daghter Maddie the Intent to Sponsor and Legacy Forms are de October 30th. In addition, sponsors are reqired to attend one of two Sponsorship Workshops offered. Information on those, along with a complete Membership Timeline can be fond in this newsletter. It s not too late to think abot working toward a year-end award. This is the first year that my daghter and I have done it, and it has been so rewarding. We have worked more hors together and served philanthropies that we may not have otherwise. With half the reporting year left and new shifts being posted all the time, I highly recommend rocking yor role, ptting a little extra time in, and working for a special award. I cold be recognizing yo at next year s Mother-Daghter Tea! Sponsor a fablos Mother/Daghter Team for or Chapter Intent to Sponsor Forms De Oct. 30
