Age UK and Pfizer commissioned Picker Institute Europe to undertake the fieldwork. 2 Alzheimers Dementia Support Alzheimers Dementia Support is a charity which offers constructive practical guidance and a wide range of services to help people in the local community whose lives are directly or indirectly affected by Dementia. During 2012, Pfizer supported Alzheimers Dementia Support with the following: We made a donation to cover the cost of a support morning arranged by the organisation, including room hire and remuneration of therapists. 1,005 Total: 1,005 As a guide this amount represents 2% of the total income of Alzheimers Dementia Support based on its last reported financial year (June June 2012). Alzheimer s Society The Alzheimer's Society is a membership organisation which works to improve the quality of life of people affected by dementia in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. AntiCoagulation Europe AntiCoagulation Europe is a UK registered charity founded in the year AntiCoagulation Europe works with patients, healthcare professionals, NHS trusts, industry, governments, other charities and patient groups and a wide range of other organisations. Its aims are: the prevention of thrombosis; the provision of information, education and support; the promotion of independence - supporting people to take an active part in their own healthcare. During 2012, Pfizer supported AntiCoagulation Europe with the following: The BMS-Pfizer Alliance (an alliance between Bristol-Myers Squibb Pharmaceuticals Ltd and Pfizer Limited) made a donation towards the development cost of a guide to anticoagulation for patients. Anxiety UK Anxiety UK works to support people living with anxiety disorders by providing information, support and understanding through its range of services. Arrhythmia Alliance Arrhythmia Alliance (A-A) is a coalition of charities, patient groups, patients, carers, medical groups and allied professionals. These groups remain independent, however, working together under the A-A umbrella to promote timely and effective diagnosis and treatment of arrhythmias.

It is a user led charity which means people with arthritis are at the heart of all its work forming its membership, influencing and engaging in all of its activities and directing strategy by electing the board of trustees, the majority of whom are themselves people with arthritis. 5 Arthritis and Musculoskeletal Alliance (ARMA) ARMA is the umbrella body providing a collective voice for the arthritis and musculoskeletal community in the UK. Together, ARMA and its member organisations work to improve the quality of life for more than 10 million people in the UK with these conditions. ARMA has 40 member organisations representing a broad range of interests across service user, professional and research groups working in the field of musculoskeletal disorders. ASH Wales ASH Wales is the leading voluntary organisation in Wales tackling tobacco use. 8 British Dupuytren's Society British Dupuytren s Society (BDS) provides information and support to people affected by Dupuytren s Contracture, Ledderhose Disease and related conditions. In 2012, Pfizer provided in-kind support in the following ways: We donated 20 pairs of gloves that simulate Dupuytren s Contracture. British Lung Foundation Scotland & Northern Ireland The British Lung Foundation (BLF) Scotland & Northern Ireland exists to help people with lung disease. It does this by offering hope and support, promoting greater understanding of lung disease and campaigning for positive change in Scotland s lung health. During 2012, Pfizer provided BLF Scotland with in-kind support in the following way: BLF Scotland & NI partnered with Pfizer at the Scottish launch of a Pfizer commissioned report entitled Evaluating smoking cessation policy and practice in the UK. The event was held at the Scottish Parliament in September 2012 and a member of BLF Scotland & NI staff presented at the event. The British Liver Trust The British Liver Trust is the leading liver charity in the UK for all adult liver conditions. The Trust works to pioneer liver health and reduce the impact of liver disease through awareness, care and research. Cancer52 Cancer52 is an alliance of more than 60 organisations working to address the inequalities that exist in policy, services and research into the less common cancers and to improve outcomes for patients with these highly challenging diseases. Cancer Campaigning Group (CCG) The Cancer Campaigning Group (CCG) is an independent coalition of more than 50 national cancer charities representing service providers, research, advocacy and campaigning groups for cancer patients and its
9 families. The CCG s aim is to improve cancer policy and services across the six areas of public health and prevention, early diagnosis, treatment, survivorship, commissioning and research. During 2012, Pfizer supported the Cancer Campaigning Group with the following: We supported the costs associated with the running of the Cancer Campaigning Group. The CCG s planning is managed by a steering group of six elected cancer charities with the secretariat provided by MHP Communications. Their mission is to save lives and to provide an enhanced quality of life for those affected by cancer through their care and support services, cancer research, cancer education and prevention programmes, public campaigns, lobbying and advocacy. During 2012, Pfizer supported CRUK with the following: In 2011, we entered into a major 2m research partnership with CRUK 500,000 and other partners. The Stratified Medicine Programme is 5.5million partnership between CRUK, AstraZeneca, Pfizer and the government s Technology Strategy Board to propel forward the use of personalised cancer treatment. This was a balance payment as 1.5m was disclosed in our 2010/11 records. We partnered with the clinical development programme at CRUK s 32,000
10 Drug Development Office for work on a Pfizer medicine in its early development phase. We sponsored the NCRI Cancer Conference, which is administered by CRUK, a founding member. 25,000 Pfizer also contracted the following services from CRUK: A CRUK staff member participated in an advisory board about the lung cancer diagnostic environment in the UK. 750 Total: 557,750 As a guide this amount represents less than 1% of the total income of CRUK based on its last reported financial year (April March 2012). CHILDREN with CANCER UK CHILDREN with CANCER UK is a national children's charity dedicated to the fight against all childhood cancers. Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia Support Group (The CML Support Group) The CML Support Group is the UK s only charity focusing exclusively on people diagnosed with Ph+ Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia. The CML Support Group website was set up in 2000 in order to reach out to all patients diagnosed with CML and to provide support, advice and information to them and their families. During 2012, Pfizer supported the Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia Support Group with the following: We made a donation towards the cost of CML Support s Stakeholder Outreach Programme. We made a donation towards development of the CML Support Group s website. 13 The Fungal Research Charitable Trust The Fungal Research Charitable Trust s aims are to: Advance education particularly amongst physicians and scientists about mycology, fungal diseases, fungal toxicology and microbial disease in general. Promote and publish research in all aspects of mycology, fungal diseases, fungal toxicology and microbial disease (of all living things). They use a population-based approach; advocating for policy and legislative change to influence lifestyle behaviours. This will happen through the creation of healthier environments that encourage healthy lifestyles as the norm rather than the exception. Through bespoke training of patients as advocates, they are able to bring the opinions, views and experience of cancer patients, their families and carers, to the cancer research community.
