Read the novel The story of My Life. Chapter;-6 to Learn the character sketches of Helen Keller and Anne Sullivan. Science Biology
CHAPTER 5 LIFE PROCESSE 1. Mention the raw materials required for photosynthesis. 2. Mention how organisms like bread moulds and mushrooms obtain their food. 3. Name the green dot like structures in some cells observed by a student when a leaf peal was viewed under a microscope. What is this green color due to? 4. ln the experiment "Light is essential for photosynthesis" why does the uncovered part of the leaf turn blue black after putting iodine solution? 5. Give one reason why multicellular organisms require special organs for exchange of gases between their body and their environment. 6. State the basic difference between the process of respiration and photosynthesis. 7. Name the intermediate and the end products of glucose breakdown in aerobic respiration. 8. a) Write the balanced chemical equation for the process of photosynthesis. b) When do desert plants take-up c-arbon dioxide and perform photosynthesis? 9. Explain the process of nutrition in amoeba. 10. What is saliva? State its role in digestion of food. 11. What are the final products after digestion of carbohydrates and proteins? 12. Why do herbivores have longer, small intestine than carnivores? 13. ln human alimentary canal, name the site of complete digestion of various components of Food. Explain the process of digestion. 14. Explain the process of breakdown of glucose in a cell a) in the presence of oxygen b) in the absence of oxygen 15. "The breathing cycle is rhythmic whereas exchange of gases is a continuous process". Justify this statement. b) How opening and closing of stomata takes place? 16. ln single celled organisms diffusion is sufficient to meet all their requirements of food, exchange of gases or removal of wastes but it is not the case of multicellular organisms. Explain the reason for this difference 17. Draw the diagram of human respiratory system and label on it: diaphragm and larynx 18. State the role of the following in human digestive system (CBSE 2OtS) a) Digestive enzymes b) hydrochloric acid c) villi 19. i) Draw a diagram to show open stomatal pore and label on it: a) guard cells b) chloroplast ii)state two functions of stomata. iii) How do guard cells regulate the opening and closing of stomatal pore? 20.i) Leaves of a healthy potted plant were coated with Vaseline to block the stomata. Will this plant remain healthy for long time? State three reasons for your answer. ii) State any two differences between autotrophic and heterotrophic nutrition 21.i) State the three events that occur during the process of photosynthesis. Explain the role ofstomata in the process. ii) Describe an experiment to show that "sunlight is essential for photosynth esis". 22. i). Draw a diagram depicting human alimentary canal and label on it: gall bladder, liver and Pancreas. ii) State the role of liver and pancreas iii) Name the organ which performs the Following function in humans: - absorption of digested food - absorption of water
23. Explain the process of digestion in mouth, stomach and small intestine in human body. 24. List four conditions required for exchange of gas in an organism. 25. The rate of breathing in aquatic organisms is much faster than the terrestrial organisms. Give reason 26. a)name the enzyme present in saliva? b) What is emulsification? c) Name the substance which is oxidized during respiration. d) Why are lungs divided into very small sac like structures? Chemistry 1. Learn the Chapter no. 2(Acids, Bases and Salts) 2. Make a project Report on PH and Importance of PH in everyday life. 3. Solve the given Assignment.

Physics NOTE: It is to be done on A4 size sheets. I. Study your electricity meterhow TO DO PROJECT: Note down the readings of units consumed for 10 days. Make an observation table. Note down Observations. Calculate energy consumed. Also, Paste copy of electricity bill. Write power of the five appliances used in your house II. Study the chapter SOURCES OF ENERGY. Prepare the notes of the chapter according to your study on A4 Sheets. III. Write at least five ways to save electricity in your home. IV. Draw symbols of different components used in electric circuit. V. Solve the Questions given below: 1. A wire of resistance 5 ohm is bent in form of closed circle. What is the effective resistance between the two points at ends of any diameter of circle? 2. Find new resistance of wire if it is stretched to twice its original length. Original resistance was 20 ohm. Also how its resistivity will change Why we use fuse in domestic circuit? Find new resistance of wire which is doubled on itself. If Original resistance of wire is 50 ohm. Calculate the current in a circuit if 500 C of charge pass on through it in 10 minutes. Derive an expression for electric energy in terms of potential difference, current and the time for which current flows through a conductor. 7. Two identical resistors, each of resistance 10 Ώ are connected in (i) series, and (ii) in parallel, in turn to a battery of 10 V. Calculate the ratio of power consumed in the combination of resistors in the two cases. 8. In a household, 5 tube lights of 40 W each are used for 5 hours and an electric press of 500 W for 4 hours each day. Calculate the total energy consumed by the tube lights and press in a month 30 days. 9. Two coils of resistances 3 Ώ and 6 Ώ are connected in series across a battery of 12V. Find the electrical energy consumed in 1 minute in each resistance when these are connected in series An electric iron consumes energy at the rate of (a) 840 W when heating at maximum rate and (b) 360 W when the heating is at the minimum. The voltage is 220V. What are the current and the resistance in each case? Two copper wires A and B of length 30 m and 10 m have radii 2cm and 1cm respectively. Compare the resistance of the two wires. Which will have less resistance? Write four properties of magnetic field lines. Distinguish between renewable and non-renewable sources of energy? Why is bio-gas a better fuel animal dung-cake? Define bio-degradable wastes? What protects us from the harmful effect of ultra violet rays of the sun? Write a short note on green house effect? Why are we looking for alternate source of energy?
Define ocean thermal energy? Calculate the energy consumed in 20 days, if two bulbs of 30 w work for 6 hrs, three fans of 80 w work for 10 hrs daily and one tube of 60 w works for 3 hrs daily. Maths
