1 EU ORGANIC HEMP WE ARE THE LARGEST PRODUCER, PROCESSOR AND TRADER OF HEMP IN THE BALTIC REGION, AS WELL AS ONE OF THE LARGEST PRODUCERS OF ORGANIC HEMP IN EUROPE.
2 ABOUT AGROPRO ONE OF THE LARGEST PRODUCERS OF ORGANIC HEMP IN EUROPE The year 2013 marked the start of hemp growing at Agropro, followed by the further development of our organic hemp business in The area of land in the Baltic region that is cultivated with organic hemp has increased five times within a period of 2 years. Currently, the land being cultivated on certified organic fields has reached 2200 ha. In the 3rd quarter of 2017, we are planning to open a new factory for organic products made of hemp. THE LARGEST PROCESSOR AND TRADER OF ORGANIC HEMP IN THE BALTIC REGION Each year has stood out in terms of increases in our production volume and the expansion of our product variety. 95% of our products are exported to the EU and USA, and we are also entering the markets of Japan, South Korea and Canada. THE OFFICIAL DISTRIBUTOR OF FINOLA HEMP SEED We are the official distributor of Finola hemp seed in Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Romania and Bulgaria. WE ARE PROUD TO BE ONE OF THE MAJOR LEADERS IN THE ORGANIC HEMP MARKET OF EUROPE ha ha ha
3 AGROPRO PRODUCTS Our certified organic fields are cultivated with the FINOLA variety of hemp, which was developed by PhD Jace Callaway in Finland, and therefore grows perfectly in the northerly climate of the Baltic region. This non-narcotic variety of hemp belongs to the Cannabis sativa L. family, and is used for food preparation and oil extraction. FINOLA grows up to centimetres in height. As a result, unlike other fibre-oriented hemp which may reach up to 4 metres, FINOLA can be easily harvested using standard agricultural machinery. This special variety of hemp guarantees a yield of 1-2 tonnes of seed harvested per hectare in a conventional farm, or tonnes of seed harvested in an organic farm. In Lithuania, hemp was one of the first agricultural plants. Besides its pharmacological effects, hemp is nutritious, fast-growing, and resistant to invasive weed and pests. Hemp fibre is extremely solid and water resistant, and with modern textile technologies, it is perfect for making fabrics of various thickness and softness. Another advantage of hemp over cotton is that growing the hemp does not require poisoning the soil with massive amounts of chemicals. Moreover, hemp is a better material than timber for making cellulose, while hemp plants are also more environmentally-friendly. Furthermore, it takes at least 60 years for a forest to grow until harvesting, while in a tropical climate hemp may be harvested as often as three times a year. Did you know that the famous USA Declaration of Independence was written on hemp paper? THE PURSUIT OF HEALTHY PRODUCTS IS OUR KEY DRIVER. OUR SUSTAINABLE PROCESS DEMANDS A LOT OF CRAFTSMANSHIP AND THEORETICAL KNOWLEDGE, AS WELL AS PLENTY OF PATIENCE AND EFFORT.
