Causes of High Cholesterol in the Body Food Eating too much fat such as animal fat for example, beef, milk, eggs, butter and cheese. Body weight The body weight affects the cholesterol content in the body. If you are overweight, the risk of high cholesterol is great. Daily activities The activities in life influence the health of our bodies. If we do not like to carry out exercise, our cholesterol levels will increase and this will lead to weight gain. Ancestry People who have hereditary high cholesterol will have the potential for high cholesterol. (2 marks) (a) Animal fat contains a high percentage of saturated fat.
