1 Curriculum Vitae PURAN SINGH SIJWALI, Ph.D. Principal Scientist, Center for Cellular and Molecular Biology Uppal Road, Hyderabad , India Phone (O) ; (Cell) Fax: / ; E mail: psijwali@ccmb.res.in RESEARCH INTEREST My lab is investigating roles of proteases in stage-specific development and differentiation of malaria parasite. The goal is to identify proteases that have essential functions in parasite development and are parasite-specific or significantly different from the host homologs, hence, can be targeted for development of new antimalarials. Another area of investigation is host pathogen interactions in which we are focusing on variant antigens of malaria parasites. EDUCATION M.Sc.
