The overall goal of this annual conference is to provide participants with up-to-the-minute information about geriatric care and social issues affecting the well-being of older adults. Recognized experts in geriatrics and gerontology will offer clinical, theoretical, social, spiritual, legal, and educational perspectives. Workshops will provide opportunities for group discussion with faculty and other participants. This session will enhance healthcare professionals understanding of the responsibilities and needs of family caregivers, present support strategies shown to help family caregivers provide quality care to loved ones, and provide resources for effective practice. Presentation will include numerous eye disease entities and their affect on vision and mobility. This workshop will review approaches to defining psychosocial and physical frailty, including assessment in a clinical setting and associations with adverse health outcomes.
