2 Welcome Address Dear Colleagues, I have the great pleasure and honor to announce the 3 rd Endocrine Update Program & the 22 nd Annual Scientific Summit of the Egyptian Association of Endocrinology, Diabetes & Atherosclerosis EAEDA ENDO Summit This year EAEDA ENDO Summit will be held in collaboration with The Endocrine Society (USA), from the 27 th to the 29 th of September 2017, in Hilton Green Plaza Hotel,. Our summit is considered on of the largest international Endocrine & Daibetes Congress in the Middle East and Africa. In which Participating International speakers from the USA, Europe & Asia and International speakers from Egypt. Our scientific program and social event have been carefully weaved to spin a tale for each separate liking. With all the best Prof. Fahmy Amara, M.D President of the EAEDA 2

We will all have the opportunity to participate in very active discussions and lectures by the world s top scientists and experts and to hear all the advances in our field. And as one of university faculty members I do have the honor of being the summit s chairman, trying to glow up the importance of sharing an insight into the recent updates and cutting edge researches, which gains immense interest with the colossal and exuberant presence of adepts, young and brilliant national members as well as national experts & international guest speakers. In order to exchange break-through ideas relating to endocrinology, Diabetes and Atherosclerosis, it promotes top level research in order to globalize the quality of our experience. Aly Elbahrawy - Canada He did his surgical residency, had his master and Doctorate degrees, and served as a lecturer before moving first to France to do a fellowship in digestive surgery then to Canada He pursued further training in bariatric surgery at McGill University, where he did his MIS bariatric fellowship as well as his second masters. Currently, working at McGill University Health Center as acute care, trauma and bariatric surgeon. A recipient of many awards and the author of many publications. 6

Board certified in internal medicine, with subspecialty in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism and certified as Hypertension Specialist by the American Society of Hypertension Janet Hall USA Senior Investigator at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences Clinical Director Division of Intramural Research NIH/NIEHS She is an internationally known clinical investigator whose research has focused on the neuroendocrine control of reproduction and its disorders. She has made unique contributions to our understanding of the neuroendocrine underpinnings of hypothalamic amenorrhea, PCOS and premature ovarian insufficiency, the genetope/phenotype relationships in women with congenital GnRH deficiency. 7

13 General Information About is a Mediterranean port city in Egypt. During the Hellenistic period, it was home to a lighthouse ranking among the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World as well as a storied library. Today the library is reincarnated in the disc-shaped, ultramodern Bibliotheca Alexandrina. The city also has Greco-Roman landmarks, old-world cafes and sandy beaches. Its 15th-century seafront Qaitbay Citadel is now a museum., the second largest city in Egypt, known as "The Pearl of the Mediterranean", has an atmosphere that is more Mediterranean than Middle Eastern. Its ambience and cultural heritage distance it from the rest of the country although it is actually only 225 km. from Cairo. Founded by Alexander the Great in 331 BC, became the centre of culture for centuries, and it remained Egypt s capital for nearly a thousand years. was known because of its lighthouse (Pharos), one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World; its library (the largest library in the ancient world); and the Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa, one of the Seven Wonders of the Middle Ages. 13

15 ORGANIZATIONAL NOTES Registration hours Registration desk will be ready on Wednesday 27 th of September at 08:00 am Registration desk will be ready on Thursday, 28 th of September at 08:30 am Badge All registrants and exhibitors must wear their name badge to have access to congress sessions, lunches and social events. No exceptions will be made Certification Individual Credit hours for attending the conference (According to Barcode System). Credit hours for the different sessions will be provided at end of each session. Certification with the number of credit hours will depend on getting a proof from attendance analysis of the Barcode system. Certificate will be issued ONCE with the actual ratio of scientific attendance. The Accreditation Review Committee (ARC) of the American Association of Continuing Medical Education (AACME) designates this medical education activity for a maximum of hours in the Category 1 credit of the AACME Designation 15

16 Language The official language is English. All lectures and presentations will be held in the English language only. There will be no translation available Website Weather Electricity The electricity supply in Egypt is 220 Volts, 50 Hz. Most hotels also provide 110 Volts outlets for shavers Currency Banking (rates are subjects to market fluctuations) Egyptian Pound (EGP) is the official currency in Egypt. Foreign currency exchange is available in most of the hotels, banks and currency exchange offices ATM machines are available all through the city, at the convention center and at the vicinity of all congress hotels. 16
