4 States continue down the road with HIT Kentucky awarded a three-year, $4.5 million contract t to a private company to begin building a statewide health information exchange (HIE) Wyoming recently committed $4 million over 3 years to building an Electronic Health Record (HER) system that will enable e healthcare e providers to access and share clinical information on that state s Medicaid patients advocacy@himss.org 4
5 Other State HIT Projects Virginia Creating Health Information Technology Advisory Commission Goal to prepare state to compete for HITECH funds in ARRA Iowa Rolled out a statewide e-prescription program Indiana Established Indiana Health Information Technology, Inc. State's five health information exchanges and four other state organizations joined together and applied for HITECH funds to build a statewide health information technology program advocacy@himss.org 5
