This session will help you understand how this happens, the effects on overall health and wellbeing, and offer solutions for change that have been time tested over the ages. CPR for Family and Friends Sat., April 3, 9 a.m. 1 p.m. Learn the basic life saving skills of cardiopulmonary resuscitation and choking in the infant, child and adult. This practical training class is designed for the lay rescuer no written test involved. Pre-registration and $10 materials fee required in advance. Grief Recovery Mon., April 5, 6:30 8 p.m. Speaker: Carol Ann McElwee, Certified Grief Counselor Discussion will focus on moving forward after loss. Refreshments. Hearts Under Repair - Nutrition Tues., April 6, 6:30-7:30 p.m. Speaker: Alice Sulkowski, RD,JCMC Learn how your diet can affect your heart health. Practical tips to enhance your nutritional health will be discussed including fats, cholesterol, carbohydrates and more. CPR Healthcare Provider Wed. and Thurs., April 7 and 8, 5-8:45 p.m. This 2-night class is designed for healthcare workers to teach the skills of CPR for adult, child and infant victims. AED training and foreign body airway obstruction included.

2 Completion card issued after successful written and skills tests. Pre-registration and $45 fee required in advance. Diabetes Self Management Series Thurs., April 8, 15, and 22, 9 a.m.-noon or repeated Tues., April 13, 20, and 27, 5:30 8:30 p.m. Speakers: Norma Curtis, RN,CDE, and Jennifer Persinger, RD,CDE,JCMC These series of classes are designed to put You in control of your diabetes. Each class builds on the preceding class. Basics of Diabetes and Complications, Carbohydrate Counting, Meal Planning, Monitoring Blood Sugar, Medications and much more. $30 per series. Pre-registration required. Insulin Administration Thurs., April 8, 1:30 2:30 p.m. Speaker: Norma Curtis, RN,CDE,JCMC Learn the basics of insulin therapy. Discussion will focus on the types of insulin including the new insulins, the proper technique for drawing and/or mixing insulin, how to set up a schedule that fits your lifestyle and proper administration. Coronary Risk Panel (CRP) Sat., April 10, 7-9:15 a.m. Total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, triglycerides, blood glucose and hematocrit. No food or drink (except water) 8-12 hours before the test.
