2 Goal: Help our school learn about energy Activities and Tasks: 1. Hosted an energy carnival and invited members of the community. 2. Built an energy generating bicycle and let all of the students try it out. 3. Taught recycling by doing a fun game. 4. Did a compost experiment and taught our peers about composting. 5. Gave a presentation to our teachers and staff. 6. Performed a play for our school and community

6 Student Leadership 6 energy team members hosted and taught an energy carnival 6 energy team members performed a play for their school and community 6 energy team members gave a presentation to 45 teachers about energy 6 energy team members visited classes and gave presentations 6 energy team members taught and organized recycling games for students

7 Evaluation 120 students and 15 teachers came to the energy fair 400 people watched the energy themed play 6 teachers attended a NEED workshop 54 parents and children learned about the environment at the Home of the Innocents

8 Goal 2: Conserving Energy Activities and Tasks: Conducted energy surveys in the school building Sent reminders to all teachers and students about energy shut downs Gave a presentation to the teachers and asked them to help conserve energy Built compost bin for the school Recycled and composted all of the K-cups from teacher lounges

10 Student Leadership 6 energy team students recycled and composted materials from K-Cups and made presentation about it to teachers 6 energy team students conducted energy surveys and presented results to school 6 energy team students sent out energy shut down reminders before all long weekends and holidays 6 energy team members wrote newsletters for the school and community

11 Evaluation 2,000 K-Cups were recycled, composted or reused Energy survey results got better every month All classes hung reminders passed out by energy team 400 pounds of food waste was composted

12 Goal 3: Community Outreach Wrote and performed an energy themed play for the community Sent out newsletters on social media and websites Volunteered at the Home of the Innocents with children and families in need Hosted farmers markets with fruits and vegetables that we grew
