3 Call to establish the welcome services for International Guests A growing demand for professional suport services for international guests, mainly researchers, visiting professors, teachers, post-docs, exchange visitors and other guests Such support services = a key element to attract high potential to universities, develop international co-operation in research and education Welcome services are currently needed in the internal structure of a modern university of the 21st century. Services dedicated to international guests can help them find themselves in a new country and new university environment in a smooth and comfortable way Welcome services contribute to enhance scientific knowledge and professional development.
4 A Jagiellonian University call to create the Welcome Centre for International Guests The growing number of international guests coming to the JU each year (in the last 15 years this number increased from 2,970 to 4,975 per year) JU has seen the urgent need for creating and developing activities carried out by a welcome centre The Welcome Centre for International Guests would be the JU`s response to challenges posted by modern, international standards This is a chance to create a professional database

8 JU Welcome Centre for International Guests Service Point for international guests coming to JU Activities are included in three pillars: Tasks & Aims I. Assistance to international scholars in questions concerning everyday life and work in Kraków II. Support of Institutes/research facilities members who assist visiting scholars III. Cooperation and coordination with other departments, units or support services for international guests at the University (HR Office, Rector s proxy for safety&security, research centres, libraries, professor guesthouses etc.)

(Information & Support) Welcome Centre for International Guests a point of contact for all internationally mobile academics visiting the Jagiellonian University the administrative support service provides general information, advice and support for guests in preparation for and throughout their stay at JU As for researchers coming within international projects, they will also get professional support from the JU Centre for Project Administrative Support, which helps project researchers to conduct their research at JU. Our area of expertise include:

22 Welcome Guide for International Guests - project The Welcome Guide will give information on all important issues of everyday life and work in Poland, Kraków and JU. The Welcome Guide will be available as PDF version as well on the homepage of Welcome Centre.
23 FUTURE PROJECTS: Online-Portal for International Guests Access via Online registration at the homepage of the Welcome Centre The Portal will offer: Possibility to contact easily other visiting scholars in Kraków/JU Online registration for events Virtual fleamarket and private accommodation offers Information Fundrising of the project: Regional Fund, competition organized by National Center for Research and Development, POWER IP PZ3/17
24 Mentorship programme for International Guests The Mentorship programme will aim at the establishing contacts between international guests coming to JU and University alumni, academics, students and citizens of Kraków or expats living in Kraków. Interested participants have the chance to make friends and learn more about Polish culture and daily life in Kraków. Aim: To support integration and international exchange
