1 Tyrannosaurus rex Lived throughout western North America 65 mya. One of the largest land carnivores of all time. The largest speciemen found measues 42 feet long and 13.1 feet tall. The weight of the organism has been estimated at about 13,000 pounds. Recent biochemical studies have shown T. rex to be closely related to birds. Now believed to have traveled 11 miles per hour. Why would T. Rex have fat stores rather than large starch (glycogen) stores? xljewk 1
