Carmel SANE Nurse Session covering SANE process and interpreter issues for interpreting in Deaf Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault situations Section B--Professionals with Limited Skills in Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault work: Introduction to Sexual and Relationship Violence Dynamics Presenters: DWAVE, CHOICES Eliminating Domestic Violence, and Sexual Assault Response Network of Central Ohio (SARNCO) Basic introductions to the patterns, warning signs, and intervention opportunities including what resources are available and more information about serving diverse survivors Section C--Professionals with Advanced Skills in Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault work: Real World Applications of Best Practices in Trauma Work Facilitators: Mt. Carmel Crime and Trauma Assistance Program (CTAP) Trauma specialists facilitating a sharing of best practices applied to real world survivors, how things are really being applied and what outcomes providers are experiencing 3:15 to 3:30 pm: BREAK with afternoon snacks 3:30 to 4:30: Self-Defense, Self-Care, and Closing Presenters: DWAVE and Nancy Radcliffe Brief session teaching participants some basic self-defense skills; Self-care, and closing remarks OPTIONAL: 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm Participants interested in volunteering with DWAVE can remain for informational session about volunteering.
