6 REGISTER ONLINE BY FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 1, CLASS DESCRIPTIONS Class Aqua Pilates Descriptions This class is designed to help you develop core strength and flexibility with the low impact benefits of water. Art of Belly Dance Ashtanga Yoga Bachata & Salsa Ballet Beginner Ju-Jutsu Beginner Pilates Belly Fit Bootcamp Cumbia & Merengue Essential Yoga Group Fitness Workshop Intermediate/ Advanced Ju-Jutsu World renowned performer Jasmin Jahal introduces you to Pure Raks, a fun, yet disciplined program that trains you step by step in the feminine and elegant movements of classical belly dance. Practice is focused on the postures of the first half of the Ashtanga Yoga Primary Series with an emphasis on breathing and proper alignment. In this class, you will learn turns, combinations and musicality for salsa and bachata. Learn how to lead or follow with more confidence. Learn the techniques of ballet while improving your core, posture and grace of movement. This self-defense class uses combat techniques for handling real life violent physical assault. CAI Ju-Jutsu is based upon Miyama Ryu Ju-Jutsu and ParaCombatives Ju-Jutsu. No prior experience necessary. Designed for those new or with limited experience with the Pilates, these sessions help you develop core strength by working from the inside out. Dance technique will be incorporated into a class that trains your core, whittles your waist line, and enhances your assets to sculpt a well-rounded, feminine derrière. In this class, you will learn turns, combinations and musicality for cumbia and merengue. Learn how to lead or follow with more confidence. This yoga class will help you develop strength and flexibility while focusing on alignment and relaxation. Have you always wanted to learn how to teach group fitness? Join us for this one day workshop on the basics of group fitness instruction. Ongoing training for those who have completed Beginner Ju-Jutsu. 7 CLASS DESCRIPTIONS Class Intermediate Pilates Descriptions Designed for students familiar with the Pilates exercises and terminology, these sessions help you develop core strength by working from the inside out. Intermediate Salsa/ Bachata Intermediate Tango Personal Trainer Workshop Pilates Mat/ Combo Pilates Power Vinyasa Slow Flow & Restore Tango Women's Self Defense Yoga Flow Advance your social dancing skills with this combination intermediate salsa/bachata class! This class offers is a close embrace milongero style with continuation of technique and musicality, but at a much faster paced rhythm the elements are those that are danced in most dance halls in Buenoes Aires. The UIC In-House personal training course covers the following topics: Anatomy, biomechanics, physiology, exercises for all major muscle groups and some modified versions to accommodate certain conditions. Experience all the best of Pilates! This class will use BOTH Mat and techniques to develop participants' muscular strength, endurance, and flexibility. These sessions can help you develop core strength by working from the inside out. In this class, students flow through traditional yoga poses with an emphasis on core strength, flexibility, fluid movement, and breath, while building heat and increasing heart rate. Students will flow through traditional yoga poses at a slower pace with deliberate transitions and longer holds, while focusing more on flexibility and breath. This course offers will cover the basics of the Argentine Tango, which promotes heart health, protects against diseases and adds creativity, spice & passion to your life! During the women s ONLY self defense class, learn state of the art techniques for escaping and evading the attacks most frequently perpetrated against women. Practice postures to align, strengthen and promote flexibility in the body while building breath awareness. Register online by February 1,

UIC Students and Members Select the FORGOT PASSWORD / CREATE LOGINS? CLICK HERE link. Enter the address you have on file with Membership Services. You maybe asked for your UIC, which can be found on your I-card. An will be sent to you with a user name and password. After logging in, you will be prompted to change them. Non-members Click on the BECOME A GUEST button on the right side of the screen. Fill out the personal information form. Be sure to include your address for contact, and birth date to be able to register for classes. Add your children to the account with the ADD SUB-MEMBERS button. You will be prompted to create a user name and password. After receiving confirmation, you will be able to log in with these credentials. 8 Register online by February 1, 2019

9 REGISTRATION INFORMATION STEP 3: Register for programs and classes. Login, then click the HOME button in the top right. Use the PROGRAM REGISTRATION button to navigate to the listings. Select the facility that your class will be taking place at using the dropdown box in the upper left hand corner. Click the name of picture or the SELECT button of the desired class. Once a course is selected, click the VIEW PROGRAMS button to see class times and costs. Select ADD TO CART, accept the waiver, and click continue. You will be brought to a screen allowing you to make the payment and complete your registration. While entering your payment info, be sure to verify your , as this is where your receipt will be sent. After submission, you will be presented with a receipt screen. Thanks! See you in class! Register online by February 1,

10 PROGRAM POLICIES To ensure that your class will run, register by February 1, Classes not meeting the minimum requirement of participants will be canceled. You will be notified by if the class is canceled. Please be sure to update your address in your online registration account. Refunds will ONLY be issued for classes canceled due to low participation or for a doctor documented illness or injury. Late registrations will be accepted into a class that is running; however, pro-rates for missed classes will not be honored. People under the age of 18 cannot participate in ANY UIC Campus Recreation group fitness session classes or instructional programs. No one under the age of 18 is permitted to be present during class instruction. TRY IT FREE classes are on a first come first serve basis. You do not need to sign up in advance for TRY IT FREE classes. Please visit our website at rec.uic.edu to review a complete copy of our policies. i-card POLICY All members participating in UIC Campus Recreation programs are required to show a valid i-card upon entrance to our facilities. Any person who fails to show their i-card will be required to pay the daily guest admission to the facility. Non-members are required to check in at the Membership Service Desk.
