2 Welcome / Contents On behalf of the Department of Athletics, I would like to personally welcome you to Shorter University and beautiful Rome, Georgia. We developed this guide to assist you in hopes that we can help make your visit with us an enjoyable one. Shorter sponsors 19 NCAA Division II varsity intercollegiate athletic programs. We are proud members of the Gulf South Conference.The Department of Athletics also sponsors two competitive cheerleading squads that compete nationally each year. 4 Event Information Ticketing Tickets are available only on the day of the game. Cash only. No credit or debit cards accepted. Ticket prices are as follows: Football Single-Game General Admission Adults -- $10 Children (5-12) -- $5 Non-Shorter Students (w/id) -- $5 Shorter Students/Faculty/Staff (w/id) -- FREE Children 4 and under -- FREE Basketball, Softball, Volleyball Adults -- $5 Shorter Students/Faculty/Staff (w/id) -- FREE Children 4 and under -- FREE Parking For events on campus (Winthrop-King Centre, Robert H. Ledbetter Baseball Complex, Ben Brady Field), buses can drop off teams at locker rooms located at the Winthrop-King Centre and proceed to park in the adjacent lot at the top of the hill across the roadway. For contests played at the Robert H. Ledbetter Baseball Complex and Ben Brady Field, buses may be parked in the gravel lot located below the baseball complex. For events at Historic Barron Stadium, team drop off and bus parking is available on W 5th Street, which runs behind the visitors grand stand. Sports Information Media personnel (sports information, radio, TV, etc.) traveling with the visiting team are asked to contact the Shorter University Sports Information Department at least 24 hours in advance of the competition to ensure that adequate resources are available. In addition, the Shorter University Sports Information Department may contact the visiting school to obtain pregame information in order to prepare for competition. Please contact the Shorter University Sports Information Department in advance if there are any other services that you may require or any other media outlets that need final results. 5 Sports Medicine Shorter University s comprehensive sports medicine program utilizes athletic trainers from Floyd Medical Center and team doctors from Rome Orthopaedic Clinic (ROC) to provide its student-athletes with the highest quality medical support. A certified athletic trainer is present at all university sponsored athletic events. The sports medicine team will be available before and after any competition and can be contacted in advance to address any questions, issues, or concerns. Floyd Medical Center Floyd Medical Center is the official athletic training provider for. Floyd Medical Center is located directly behind Historic Barron Stadium and an ambulance is present at all school-sponsored athletic events held at Historic Barron Stadium. Floyd Medical Center, Emergency Room Floyd Urgent Care, 304 Shorter Avenue Rome Orthopaedic Clinic Rome Orthopadeic Clinic (ROC) has partnered with Shorter University Athletics to provide team doctors and orthopedic surgeons. Orthopedic surgeons Dr. Steven Brown and Dr. Charlie May will be on hand at most athletic events.
