I know we have several in our Club and at the risk of missing anyone whom may have served, please accept our deepest regard and admiration for your service. member time to review and prepare for a vote on the new document at our January meeting. As I have stated previously, Please make plans to attend our Christmas Party on December 1, at View 34. The format will be much the same as last year : Good Food, Good Company and the legendary White Elephant Gift Exchange. See page 5 of this newsletter for details. RSVP no later November 19th. Your Board of Directors has been working on the amended Bylaws for the Club and will be communicating the proposed changes in the near future. Th update to the Bylaws is long overdue and the changes will bring the document up to date. The current timeline will include sending each member a copy of the current Bylaws and the revised document in late November. This will give each this will bring the Street Masters Bylaws up to date and show that we are an active and vibrant Club. Thanks to all of the Directors and especially to Chuck Poches for comment and direction on the proposed changes. See you all on November 19th at Perkins! Thanksgiving blessings to us all! 2 October 15, 2018 Meeting Minutes Members present: 27 President Marlin Roseland called the meeting to order followed with the Pledge of Allegiance. The September 2018 minutes and treasurer s reports were read. A motion was made by Rich Shangreaux, seconded by Rodger Seefeldt, to approve the minutes; motion carried. A motion was made by Cale Zickrick, seconded by Karen Callahan, to accept the treasurer s report; motion carried. Club Accolades and Concerns: Congratulations to Patrick Callahan and his crew for the excellent coverage of the Buchanan school Grandparent s Day event. The piece was watched by many on Oahe TV and our website. Committee Reports: Old Business: New Business: Dam Run - The 2019 Dam Run will be August Chairman, Kale Urban, is collecting ideas. Al Spangler has a coworker with a DJ business who is willing to set up during the Dam Run if needed. Members appreciated the offer which will be shared with Kale for consideration when making final arrangements. Newsletter/Website Let Ardys know if you are not receiving the ed newsletter so a paper version can be mailed. The Christmas party RSVP was included in the October newsletter. Continue to share information with Marlin Roseland for the website and remember to use Facebook when appropriate. To limit the number of s individuals receive concerning events, please do not use reply all unless you are sharing a detail the whole membership needs to know. In most cases, when indicating your attendance at events, reply only to the originator of the . Membership - Rich Shangreaux introduced new member Bob Stalley. Bob and Jennifer have a 1969 Chevelle. Gary and Charlene Shepherd are also new members. Since membership dues are to be paid in August, Rich suggested that individuals not renewing their memberships by October 1 be removed from the membership list, group, and newsletter mailing. Scholarship - The application process for 2019 graduates will begin early next year. We need to brainstorm ideas for encouraging more local applicants. Visiting shop classes and/or attending university fairs were suggested. A motion was made by Roxie Thielen, seconded by Dale Hunsley, to move $1000 from our general checking account to the scholarship fund; motion carried. Cruise schedule - Nothing scheduled. Recent Events - Thank you to those participating in the recent events. Thirteen vehicles were at Buchanan school s Grandparents Day event; a thank you was received from Principal and club member Ryan Noyes. Ten vehicles attended the new ownership grand opening of the car wash. Several members made the trip to Bob s Steakhouse for an awesome steak. Six members traveled to Omaha to help Tony Curtis, Ann s son, celebrate his 50th birthday. Name Tags - An order will be submitted for the newest club members. Members were reminded to wear their name tag at all club meetings or pay the $1 fee. Wearing them to other events is encouraged but no penalty will be incurred. Christmas party - The party is Saturday, December 1, at the View/Pub beginning at 5 with a social, dinner at 6 and the gift exchange at 7 p.m. RSVPs are due November 19. The fee is $18.50 per plate which includes tax and gratuity. Each individual wanting to participate in the gift exchange brings one wrapped gift. The gift exchange consists of selecting gifts, either from the wrapped or unwrapped gifts, through a number selection process. Unwrapped gifts can only be stolen a certain number of times. Gifts should be in the $20 price range. New members can contact one of the officers if you have questions. Rules will be reviewed before the exchange starts Hospice Poker Run - Marlin Roseland confirmed our participation in the September 14, 2019 event. Members were asked to begin saving pennies for this purpose in hopes of having a large collection for the event. It was also suggested that we use our name tag fund for this purpose. By-Laws - Marlin will work with the Board of Directors and attorney/club member, Chuck Poches, to work on updates. Plans are to complete this project by January. Steak fry - In past years, a Fall potluck steak fry has been held with the club purchasing steak for members in attendance. Members decided to revisit this event in the Spring rather than scheduling it this Fall. Rich Shangreaux will chair this event. PARS holiday project - A motion was made by Mike Denton, seconded by Rich Shangreaux, to donate two Thanksgiving meals and two Christmas meals to the Pierre Area Referral holiday project. Each meal is $35; Roxie Thielen will submit the donation.

Election - Election of club officers will be held at the January meeting. Members should be thinking of nominations. A nomination/ selection box will be available at the Christmas party.

Parade of Lights - For members wanting to participate, the Pierre Parade of Lights is Monday, November 19, with lineup at 5 p.m. Oahe Speedway - A thank you was received from the Speedway for our sponsorship during the 2018 season. November Meeting - Scheduled for Monday, November 19, at 7 p.m. with members wanting to order a meal gathering at 6 p.m. at Perkins. A motion was made by Cale Zickrick, seconded by Bob Thielen, to adjourn the meeting; motion carried.
