2 President s Corner Hi North County Corve e Members, We had a great turnout for the Past Presidents picnic in Bonsall that started with a C2 rally. Thank you to Dave for se ng up the rally! The winner of the rally will be announced at the September business mee ng. We hope every one enjoyed the food, views, people, and the birds. Our neighbors enjoyed seeing all the Corve es in a endance. And it is now official, Sandy and Lynn have escaped Escondido and made the move to Arizona. We wish them the best in their new home. Heard they had neighbors watching them unpack, a couple of deer across the street. Happy to let the club know Wayne is doing well and recovering from what he called a valve job. Get well and hope to see you soon! North County Corve e Club needs a lead for the Christmas party this year. Wayne and Marilyn have been doing this for the past several years and need a break. The event is held at the Officers Club at Miramar, anyone interested in stepping up please let me know or volunteer at the September mee ng! Wayne has provided a detailed instruc on list for the leader as a guide. Thank you to Sam for providing the board with the commi ee recommenda ons for Plas c 40! I am happy to see we had input from the club members to make this year special. NCOCC has some great ac vi es coming in the next few months and I hope everyone par cipates! We did for sure! We hear Wayne Osborne is recupera ng well a er having a valve job at the hospital. Hope to see you and Marilyn soon! We will all miss Sandy and Lynn Mayer now that they have moved to Arizona. Now we re looking at the beginning of Fall and holiday season. Where did the year go? The Well Church. 7:00pm Farewell to NCOCC Fellow North County Corve e Club members and long me friends, Lynn and I are moving out of state and want to say goodbye to all of you. It has been a great sixteen years as members of a great group. We have held many board posi ons, chaired two Plas c Fantas c shows and worked to support the shows and club all these years. We have enjoyed the cruises, food stops and ge ng to know so many people. We are leaving San Diego on September 6 and star ng a new life chapter in Saddlebrooke, Arizona. There are several Corve e clubs in the greater Tucson area so we will be able to make new Corve e friends, and return for Plas c Fantas c as guests (that will be different). Lynn and Sandy Mayer 4

5 PAST PRESIDENT S PICNIC August 27, 2016 Photos submi ed by Bob Brown & Rick Toomey We couldn t have chosen a be er day than this for the picnic because the weather was nice, not too hot, and there was a nice breeze. From everything we have heard, the C2 Rally before the picnic went well, though some navigators said it got too hot in places. We had about 60 people here at the R&R Ranch (Rick & Renee s Ranch), out on our covered deck. The vast majority of the barbequed offerings came from When Pigs Fly in Vista and the cake was from French Bakery & Café in Vista as well. Rick and I appreciate all of the kind messages we received a er the party. It was fun. 5

9 Our Club Club members enjoy planned trips, car shows, fun runs, auto rallies, and a host of social and Corvette related events, including a Holiday Party, an Annual Recognition Dinner, and the NCoCC Plastic Fantastic all Corvette Show at Seaport Village. We support local communities in the San Diego County area by participating in special event parades and high school homecoming events. Our members also devote time, energy, and resources in supporting our club charity, the USO (United Services Organization) of San Diego. Meetings Business Meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm at The Well Church Meeting Room located at Midland Road, Poway, CA. We always welcome and encourage guests to attend our meetings and to participate in our club sponsored events. For a map of our meeting location, please go to our web site at Membership Membership is open to anyone at least 18 years of age who owns a Corvette. Applicants must attend two business meetings and participate in one club event before becoming a member. Discounts on parts and service at participating dealers (Bob Stall and others). A club T-shirt. Name tags for you and your significant other. A newsletter via and/or the web site. Members are expected to attend Business Meetings, maintain current dues, and support the club by serving on committees and participating in club events. Initiation fee is $25.
