What a remarkable example of using one s hands to serve and heart to love! May God bless you and keep you safe on your journey, Gordon! Thank you to Augusta Brothers and Candace Lucchetti for putting on a fabulous Family Movie Night this past Friday. Their hard work and dedication to this event showed with every detail of the evening. It was truly a fun filled night. And, an extra big thank you to Augusta, who brought this event to our school and has been chairing it for the past 10 years! THIS WEEK AT OLA: SEPTEMBER 11 SEPTEMBER 17 Grade 5: Please bring food for the Saint Vincent de Paul Food Locker. Young Rembrandts: New session began today, September 12 th. Please see attached flyer for details. School Portrait Day: Wednesday, September 13 th. Grades K-8, please wear school uniform. Thursday, September 14 th Attire: College Day - students may wear college themed clothing and accessories. Thursday, September 14 th Dismissal Time: 2:20pm Friday, September 15 th Attire: Full Uniform Friday, September 15 th Mass Time: 10:50am, prepared by Grade 5. Grade 8: The parents will be hosting the teacher luncheon this Friday, September 15 th. Friday, September 15 th Dismissal Time: 12:00 noon. Minimum Day faculty meeting Grade 5: The class will serve as choir at the 9:30am Mass on Sunday, September 17 th. Sign-ups are available on School Speak. Please click here for more information and to sign-up. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Cub Scouts: OLA School hosts Cub Scouts for boys in grades 1 through 5. Tiger Cubs (1 st grade); Wolves (2 nd grade); Bears (3 rd grade); Webelos (4 th and 5 th grades). During 5 th grade, Webelos graduate to Boy Scouts. Cub Scout Pack 225 meets on the third Thursday of the month, at 6:30pm, in St. John s Hall. Enjoy building and racing boats, launching rockets, fishing, hiking, riding bikes, pinewood derby cars, and so much more! Our first pack meeting of the school year is on Thursday, September 21 st. 2 AUCTION "HAVANA NIGHTS": Our Annual Auction, on October 21, 2017, is less than 6 weeks away, and we need your help in preparing OLA's largest fundraiser and biggest party of the year! RESERVATIONS: Make your reservations now! Gather a group of friends and/or family and secure your table. Tables are set for 10 people, and are reserved on a first-come first-reserved basis. Please place your RSVP form and payment in the Reservations box on the Auction table in the front office. New to the school or don't have a full table? No problem. List the grade your child is in on the reservation form, or a few school families you would like to sit with, and we will take care of the rest. If you have questions, please Reservations Chairs Alexxa DeBenedetti and Michele Witry at auctionreservations@hotmail.com DONATIONS: Donations are an important contribution to the auction from each school family. Some popular items for the Silent Auction, which occurs during the cocktail reception, are Sports Memorabilia, Electronic Devices, Items for theme baskets (cooking, sports, toys, spa day, gourmet food, etc.), Professional Services, Speciality Kitchen Appliances, and Gift Cards for local businesses, sports camps, entertainment, and restaurants. Please drop off all Silent Auction donations at the Auction Donations table in the front office. Be sure to fill out a donation triplicate form and secure it to your donation. "Pick Your Party": Sign-ups occur during the Silent Auction. These parties are just as fun to host as they are to attend. Kentucky Derby Party, Poker Night, Beer or Wine Tasting Party, Progressive Bike Party, Father-Daughter Dance, Mother- Son Laser Tag, and 80's Dance Party are just a few ideas from past years.
