We have a block of rooms reserved with a special $89 room rate for our out of town guests or those who simply want to stay and play. Call the Barren Heights office for details. 2 Page 2 When Can We Come Back? This question is heard so often at Barren Heights. The answer has been that we desire to love and impact as many families as possible. Historically, we have invited our guests to attend a retreat one time, unless there was a last minute cancellation to backfill. Now we have a better answer! In 2015 we plan to welcome our guests to attend a variety of Specialty Retreats. Our offerings will include 2 Marriage Retreats, A Men s Wild at Heart Retreat, and New Parent-Child Sibling Service Weekends. These Specialty Retreats include fun and fellowship as well as teaching workshops that aim to draw you closer to the Lord and each other. We are also developing a BH2 Retreat specifically for Returning Guests. A trial BH2 weekend is planned for next spring. 3 Page Volunteer Awards Barren Heights would like to recognize the wonderful service of the ministry s leaders and volunteers. Each fall we present two awards to volunteers who serve with the hands and heart of Jesus. Nominations may come from ANY guest or volunteer and should be received by October 15, Abigail s Impact Award - Please nominate a youth (5-20 years old) who like the Abigail of the Bible, serves the ministry well and strong, capable, sensible and brings God, our Father, great joy winners Natalie Bonura and Matt Sanders celebrate with Joe and Toni Rose Daniel s Dream Award - Please nominate a volunteer who like the Daniel of the Bible, serves the ministry in Faith, Prayer, Courage, and Consistency. WITH GRATITUDE We want to express our gratitude to former Barren Heights Board Member, Kent Kile. Kent and his entire family have served faithfully by hosting retreats since Kent has also assisted with our Benefit Dinner, Work Days, and Ministry Marketing. We have been blessed by his generosity, biblical guidance and passion, even as his family and responsibilities have continued to expand. We hope and trust that the entire Kile family will continue to be involved with Barren Heights for a long, long time!

This Christian charity is operated solely by volunteers. The campus, located in Allen County, Kentucky near Barren River Lake was completed in 2005 for the primary purpose of hosting mini-vacation style retreats for families who have one or more children with a physical or developmental disability. The family enrichment retreats run Friday evening through Sunday afternoon, and they are free.
