4 11. Al Riggle for stuffing envelopes and mailing the Spaghetti Dinner tickets on 14 Feb. 12. Jack McWhirter, Don Cooper, Chris Routt, Darryl Smith, Mike Everett and Al Riggle for attending the Finance and Membership Committee meetings on 14 Feb. 13. Thanks to Cupid for bringing Valentine cupcakes to share with the attendees at our meeting. 15. Brent & Debbie Inman and Bruce Inman for their work with the Flag Program on 14 Feb. Program: Presented a check to Kate Eder of Big Brothers Big Sisters to sponsor the Scott County Bowl for Kids Sake. Kate spoke a little about the need for volunteers to help mentor the youth. Alyssa Bray talked about a project the SHS Key Club is starting to stock a comfort closet with toiletries, cleaning supplies for those students who need assistance. She will provide us a list of what is needed and we will collect items for them on 28 Feb at our regular meeting. Kiwanis Kwiz: None. Service Project: Old Business: 1. The Nominating Committee has been appointed to find candidates for President, President-Elect, Secretary, Treasurer and three directors. The Annual Meeting for elections is scheduled for 11 April Members of the Nominating Committee are Chair Chris Wakeman, Don Cooper and Darryl Smith. If you are interested in serving or would like to nominate someone, please contact one of the members. Terms for these candidates start 1 Oct ELIMINATE Fundraiser in Carmel, IN on 8 Mar. 3. Indiana District Mid Year Convention at the Marriott Renaissance in Indianapolis, IN on 9 Mar. 4. Big Brothers/Big Sisters Bowl for Kids Sake on 10 Mar. 5. Spaghetti Dinner to benefit Riley Children s Hospital at SUMC on 12 Mar. 6. We re organizing a planning team for the Kiwanis Scholarship Golf Scramble. The scramble will be held on 12 June. Contact LL Lowry or Al Riggle if you wish to serve. This is our sole fundraiser for our scholarship program. Al Riggle met with Nick Tisone Jr and the Scottsburg Indoor Sports Academy has! 4
5 volunteered to chair this project again this year. We need to identify volunteers to meet in the next couple of weeks to start planning. 7. Kiwanis 2019 Scholarship Applications are with the counselors at SHS and AHS. Al Riggle will pick up the completed applications on 18 Feb to provide to the Scholarship Committee for deliberation. Our nomination for the Indiana District Scholarship will be forwarded to the District by 1 March. Scholarship Committee members are Lisa Sutton, Angela Bray, Darryl Smith, Maryrose McWhirter, Nick South and Amy Coomer. New Business: 1. Cost is $ Apr: Scott County Child Abuse Prevention Luncheon at Grace Covenant Church in Austin hosted by the Scott County Prosecutor s Office.
