Welcome Guests: Members of the AHS Maverick Challenge Team. Donations: Donated $100 to Linda Jackson to sponsor the Hardy Lake Sweep. Invocation: Prayer Concerns: 1. Monte Roth is recovering from his shoulder and knee surgery. 2. Gene Counard is recovering from ankle surgery. 3. Carol Pitts recovering from cancer treatment. 4. Brent Inman continues to recover. 5. Jack McWhirter continues to recover. Serve meal. Thank You To: 1. Thanks to Bunny South for her work on the finances on 14 Mar. 2. Thanks to Jack McWhirter for his work on our website, facebook and twitter on 23 Mar. 3. Thanks to David Wilson for attending the Indiana District Mid Year Convention in Carmel, IN and presenting a workshop on corporate membership on 11 Mar. 4. Thanks to Stacie Skinner (C3BB) for preparing the BUG Certificates on 20 Mar. Program: Linda Jackson spoke about the 2017 Hardy Lake Sweep which will be held on 29 Apr 2017 beginning at 8:00 AM. There will be a Hardy Lake Breakfast sponsored by the Friends of Hardy Lake starting at 7:00 AM with proceeds going to the Dwight Chamberlin Raptor Center. The sponsorship helps provide bandannas and patches for the kids volunteering to help pick up trash that day. Upcoming Events: Mar: Indiana Key Club District Leader Convention in Muncie, IN. Looks like eight students will attend from SHS and AHS. Chandra Talley and Al Riggle will attend Mar: Kiwanis Finance Committee and Membership Committee Meetings at the Hampton Inn and Suites at 2:00 PM Mar: Kiwanis Board Meeting Mar: Reality Store at AHS from 8:00-2:30. Volunteers needed. Contact Scott County Partnership to help Apr: Knights of Columbus Blood Drive from 2:00-6:00 PM at the Knights of Columbus Hall.! 3
4 6. 4 Apr: LES K-Kids Meeting Apr: Vision Screening Project at SHS from 8:00-Noon. Five to six volunteers needed. Contact Doris Marcum or Al Riggle to sign up Apr: CASA Spring Cleaning Project from 8:00-Noon. Need volunteers for painting, moving items in the attic, pruning, spring cleanup, mulching, etc Apr: Y Healthy Kids Day and Kiwanis Bike Safety Rodeo. Five to six volunteers needed. Contact Al Riggle to help. This is a change in the previous date. Old Business: 1. Vision Screening Project: This pilot project with Kiwanis International will be held at Scottsburg High School on 5 Apr from 8:00-Noon for 10 th graders. Volunteers needed to help screen the students. Doris Marcum is our coordinator. Need about 7 volunteers to sign students in, guide them to open machines and operate the machines. 2. Y Healthy Kid s Day: Discuss plan for the Bike Safety Rodeo. Will be partnering with the Pilot Club, Scottsburg Police and Fire Departments, and Key Clubs. Need volunteers to sign kids in, help guide to the different stations, bring bike back to starting point, administer quiz and present completion certificates. New Business: 1.
