3 GREETINGS FROM HOPE MISSION, WE ARE A CHRISTIAN ORGANIZATION THAT OPERATES A SUMMER CAMP FOR KIDS FROM LOW INCOME, SINGLE PARENT, FOSTER OR GROUP HOMES OR WHO LIVE WITH A GUARDIAN. BRIGHTWOOD RANCH IS LOCATED ON 22 ACRES IN ROLLING HILLS LOCATED ONE HOUR WEST OF EDMONTON, 10 MINUTES FROM EVANSBURG. WE OPERATE PROGRAMS FOR YOUTH AGES 6-13, THROUGH 6 DAY RESIDENT CAMPS. CAMP ACTIVITIES INCLUDE: HORESBACK RIDING, ARCHERY, SKATEBOARDING, CLIMBING WALL. RIFLERY, ROPES COURSE, DRAMA, CRAFTS, PETTING ZOO, WILDERNESS SKILLS, BIBLE STUDIES, CHAPELS, GAMES AND MUCH MORE. THE BASE FEE IS $25 PER CHILD BUT IF A FAMILY CANNOT AFFORD IT, THEY DO NOT HAVE TO PAY OR CAN PAY WHAT THEY CAN AFFORD. 7 Belvedere s first ever drum circle event took place on March 14th with a small gathering of 13 participants. Although most were very apprehensive and personally a bit skeptical at first, we are sure there are now 13 people wanting to go out and buy a drum. We proved no experience is necessary, and that not only is it lots of fun, but it is definitely therapeutic and a great stress reliever. Phillip & his daughter Jen did an amazing job facilitating, had us laughing, smiling and even shouting with delight. We are already looking forward to future Drum Circles at Belvedere and plan to schedule our next session soon. If you're interested in participating please be sure to watch future updates in the newsletters. Note: this event is FREE to Community League members (2 per household). We encourage everyone to come out reduce your stress, socialize with neighbours and of course have tons of FUN! For more details contact Lisa at or info@belvederecl.com ====================================================================================================================== Our first board games night event was very successful and we are super excited to announce we are hosting another one at the end of April. With over 30 games to choose from, we had game types for everyone. There was plenty of belly laughs, groans, confusion, excitement, and drawing - if that s what you can call it (some people definitely can interpret drawings better than others) as friends and strangers joined together and took part in Telestrations, Cards Against Humanity, Monopoly, Never Have I Ever, Anomia, Lazers, and Zombie Fluxx just to name a few of the many games played. Some played the same game all evening; others kept changing it up to try out new ones. We had games for 2 to large groups available and everyone left wanting to know when we would do it again. Well, circle APRIL 29 th on your calendars. Call up your family and friends or come by yourself and come hang out with us for another stress-free, fun night playing board games, having a few drinks while visiting with others. Let us know if you have any interesting game ideas that you'd like us to bring out. Get your tickets ahead and save. There are snacks, a cash bar & door prizes!!
