If you want to work on sprucing up there is a box on the back steps to record your hours. Contact the head of Range Maintenance; John Mann for directions. On April 25th I will be holding a Basic Shotgun class for new ladies and junior trap shooting. This class is not mandatory but it does help new shooters. Please call Keith at to get on the list to take this class. I would like to congratulate Pat Cavanaugh and Bill Shepard for a remarkable job with the raffle this year. They are already almost sold out of tickets. If you want more tickets don't wait too long. It is a big job being very well done. Thank You. Club House Rentals: As a member, you can rent the club at the discounted rate of $300 with an additional $50 deposit. (The rate for a non-member is $550 with additional $200 deposit) You must be a member in good standing, and have been a member for at least a year. (Current) The club is usually rented out starting at noon on Friday until noon on Sunday. Many members and nonmembers have rented the club for weddings, receptions, anniversaries, graduation open houses, birthdays, and Christmas parties. The kitchen is included in the rental providing you with a six burner gas stove and oven, a refrigerator, 100-cup coffee pot, and a microwave. There are approximately 8o tables and 340 chairs for your use as well. 2 Turkey Shoot Our last turkey shoot for this year is April 18 at noon. We have had a good turnout this year and I would like to thank the brave shooters who have made this a very successful program. The workshop will run from 11am to 12pm on May 3rd. The workshop should not be confused with the NRA RSO Class that is going on that morning. You do not need to contact anyone-just show up! NRA Instruction March 7, 2015 at 1 PM will be our next meeting for the 2015 classes. All instructors who are looking for classes to teach this year at the Club should, please, attend. This year we have 6 Basic Pistol classes and 6 Personal Protection in the home classes already scheduled. Some of the new classes we need to schedule are Personal Protection outside the Home and Defensive Shotgun Courses. We, also, have about 10 new instructors that have received their new training this year and need to be in the rotation. I would, also, like to have RSO's for range work with our classes this year. 3 Raffle The Raffle has gotten off to a roaring start. At this point we have sold about $10,000 worth of tickets. This means we have covered all of our expenses and are now making money for your club. Here are some things you can do to help. You should have received your letter and tickets from the Raffle Committee in the mail. Please sell/buy these tickets and get the stubs and money back to us. If you need more tickets see Bill Shepard or Pat Cavanaugh at the membership and Board of Directors meetings. If you cannot sell or buy these tickets yourself please return them as soon as possible. We are running out of tickets to pass out to people to sell. Return those sold tickets, the sooner the better. The first seller s prize of 500 rounds of Winchester.22 LR in a collector s box was given away at the membership meeting on March 9 at the end of the meeting. You do not need to be present to win but you do need to have returned you ticket stubs and money to be eligible for a seller s prize. March s prize was 500 rounds of Winchester.22 LR in a nice wooden collector s box and was given away. For every $20 in ticket money you turn in you get a chance at each of the remaining seller s prize drawings. Even if you win a prize, your ticket is returned to the bucket for the next drawing, April s Prize is 325 rounds of Federal.22 LR and a Solid Metal Glock water bottle. In May we will be giving a Gun Vault Mini-Vault Standard Vault (model GV100S). We will have these drawings at the membership meeting in April, May, June, July, August and September. If you get your money in by the April 13 th Membership Meeting you will be entered in all of the 6 remaining sellers Drawings. We are getting a lot of positive feedback on the prize list this year. See the back of the tickets for details. This raffle is a big source of funds for your club. Please help support your club so it can keep providing you will quality programs. Remember, the sooner ALL of the tickets are sold the sooner you will stop hearing Pat and I harping about tickets at each meeting. Thanks~Pat & Bill RSO Course NRA Range Safety Course May 3, The cost is $75 for club members and $125 for nonclub members. It will run from 8am to 5pm. Students are responsible for their NRA registration charges. For further details and information please contact Jim Ingison at jdingison@sbcglobal.net. Payment must be received by April 10, 2015 in order to obtain RSO student training material from the NRA.

We are looking volunteers to help with the Annual Pheasants forever Youth Day Program on May 30th at 8:00. If you can help this year, please, call Alan at We will NOT be selling tickets at the Mason Gun Show in April. We do not have enough unsold tickets on hand to sell. Trash Barrels The plastic trash barrels setting around the property were donated by Dave Walter. Please do not borrow them. If you need some, contact Dave or Wayne Walter at or C.O.S.C. 5 Cowboy Action Shoot Welcome to another year of Wild West Shooting Action. My name is Evil-Duane and I would like to invite all you Cowpokes to the C.O.S.C. coral for another year of western shooting fun. Our first get together will be April 11 at 9, and all are invited. All you green-horns that would like to learn about Cowboy Action Shooting are invited too. We have shooting irons and ammo and would like to show you the ropes on our shooting sport. For more info call: C.P.L. Classes We have scheduled CPL classes for C.O.S.C. to be held once a month, May thru October. The cost for members is still only $75.00 and $ for non-members. If you would like to attend classes for obtaining your concealed pistol license. Please check our web site for dates and contact Duane Whaley at to schedule your class. Trap Shooting Our first trap start-up date will be May 3rd at noon. Trap will be open to members and nonmembers on Sunday's at noon and Thursday's at 5 PM. We encourage members who would like to learn trap shooting to come out and join us. We have NRA instructors that can teach you and answer your questions. Aaron Lopez and Sandy Enness maintain the page, along with student intern, Michelle Ried, and our goal is to keep the information as up-to-date as possible. Please visit the COSC Facebook page and LIKE us. Lastly, COSC has an online photo share account with Flickr. To view the photos we post, just visit the club website or the Facebook page and click on the link to the photo account. We appreciate all the positive feedback we ve received from club members as we try to make the club more visible to the online community. These media accounts are great marketing tools for the club, so as you talk with family and friends about COSC, please remember to refer them to one of our online accounts to get more information. Please Remember No live or spent rounds, including brass, steel and aluminum cases, and shotgun hulls, can be thrown in trash barrels or in the dumpster. Please take your empties with you when you leave, or deposit them in the white plastic buckets at each range. Please dispose of your targets when you complete your visit to the range. Our neighbors do not want to pick them up from their yards, fields and fences. Save Your Club Money Save COSC some money & switch the way you receive the monthly newsletter. Registration 8:00 on both days Help will be needed Sun 9:00A.M. to set up 3-D targets & open the archery range. The range will be open every day to member and guests. Cost will remain $5.00 per round for members and $10.00 per round for non-members.

Work a minimum of 15 hours during 2015 assisting with various Club projects and/or activities. The hours can be done all at one time or spread over the rest of this year. Don t forget to fill out a Work Hours sheet each time you work and put it in the Work Hours box at the Club. Reminder: A new revised member application is now available. If you keep a supply of applications on hand, please destroy them and replace them with the new March, 2015 edition. They are available at the Club or can be printed from the COSC website.
